    You can check out a new interview from Phoenix that he's done with USA Today, where he talks about the new LP album, A Thousand Suns, as well as the collaboration with Electronic Arts, for their upcoming Medal of Honor game. The article also features a new promo photograph of the band which you can see below. Some highlights include Phoenix talking about the dark undertones of their energetic first single, The Catalyst, as well as noting that A Thousand Suns will be an estimated 45 minutes in length.

    "...We worked with a lot of sounds and arrangements that we weren't familiar with, well, anyone doing at the moment. It's just one of those records where I think people are going to have to hear it and sit with it a little bit, hopefully listen to it from front to back and get a feel for what's going on vibe-wise and where it's going as a journey. We definitely made it to be listened to as a journey, as a 45-minute album."

    45 Minutes? You're kidding right? That means each song averages 3 minutes, if not less. :|

    The album has to be longer than 45 minutes.. :/ News saddens me.

    It looks as though Joe might have his legs under a boulder. But at least he seems to be trying to make the best of it.

    This is why I am not celebrating that it's the beginning LP when we are back at it again with a 45 minute album. Why can't we just have more time? Why the same 12 songs ritual? To then later be "milked" in LPU content and b-sides. Just give us all the stuff you shell out :D! It just goes to show more proof that they want a product that will have staying power and will sell. I want them to go wild. Give us the full 60!

    It has to be more, 6 songs are for sure all over 4 minutes in length.

    If it's 45 minutes, this probably means a couple instrumentals plus a short-ish intro. Who wants to bet The Messenger is an instrumental?

    Guys there is no way in hell the album is 45 minutes long. It's not like Phoenix has the exact album time memorized. His point was just that the album was made to be listened to as a full album.

    If you subtract the time from the 6 track sample songs from 45 minutes, you have about 17 and a half minutes for 9 songs. That averages under 2 minutes per song.

    That's not happening.

    Who knows if those other journalists are accurate? 45 minutes sounds about right to me. There will probably be some instrumental and interlude.

    It's crossed my mind before that both The Requiem & The Messenger will be instrumentals.

    Those are the lengths from the 6-track sampler. There we have almost 27 minutes, and we still have 9 more tracks. Even if those 9 tracks are 3 minutes long (which I doubt), we could have a 50+ minute record.

    I'm pretty sure that French journal that got to hear 6 songs exclusively and was accurate in descriptions of TC along with knowing that the album title comes from TC is accurate.

    the progressive sound everyone has been going on about suggests longer than 3 minutes for each track tbh
