I've been reading the newspaper lately, and it's said that the US was going to reopen their border to Canadian beef but now they're holding back again. What do you guys think about this?
I think America does need to open their borders because up here in Canada farmers are losing a lot of money just because we had 2 cases of Mad Cow. When the US has had way more cases, but just aren't filed.
I think it's complete and utter bullshit that they're keeping it closed. They have absolutely no reason, so many people are losing money because of it. And really, I'm sick of tired of the farmers coming on the news every night complaining of all the business they're losing.
I read that the gov't is going to provide some emergency funding (or whatever its called) to the farmers who need it...
I think it's retaliation for Canada's non-involvement in the US's asinine missile defense system in space. The weaponization of space is absolutely idiotic. It's only going to lead to another arms race.
