"Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start (Guardian Angels)" I don't think I've ever seen the sun shine so brightly, and I've never seen the birds in their trees singing so sweetly. The world's in the palm of my hand, and I've got nowhere to go this afternoon. I'm not going to take this opportunity so lightly. As a matter of fact, I'm going to fold it away neatly in my pocket and keep it hidden from the land— 'cause I've got nothing to do this afternoon. Is this a dream, or could it be everything I've ever hoped for? For what it's worth, I hope you're happy out there in your own little world. The guitars are chorded and the notes are ringing; such sweet melodies echo throughout the courtyard. The leaves are falling from their homes and colliding with the ground. Even with the loss of the leaves, the birds are still singing their songs to me, for me; they're the most magical bard. The notes and chords chill me to my bones, not colliding with the ground. Is this a dream, or could it be everything I've ever hoped for? For what it's worth, I hope you're happy out there in your own little world. Is this a dream, or could it be everything I've ever hoped for? For what it's worth, I hope you're happy out there in your own little world. I'll be your guardian angel. So long as you're happy, I'll be just fine. Your smiles mean the world to me and if you take them away, then I may just be lost forever. I'll be your guardian angel. I'll make you happy, I'll make you mine. I'll make you smile and you'll see that if you take that away, well, I may just be lost forever. Is this a dream, or could it be everything I've ever hoped for? For what it's worth, I hope you're happy out there in your own little world. I'll be your guardian angel— and if you take that away, then I may just be lost forever.
Thanks for the... comments. I've actually had that song title in the works for about two years now, and just yesterday finally got around to writing lyrics for it. I came up with the title after I heard the Ataris' song.
It's actually the Konami code. Most old Konami-developed videogames on NES and SNES had that code as the debug code that unlocked everything.
Argh. I knew that I should've changed the title of my lyrics. I've gotten more comments on that than I've gotten on the actual lyrics themselves. For the record, tasta, it's the Contra code, because that's the game the code was first used in; but, since Konami's used it in almost all their games since, it's been broadened into the Konami code. So pwnt.
Meh, I've always heard it referred to as the Konami code, there's even a song about it if I remember correctly. I really like the lyrics though, the 2nd verse was particularly cool how you connected music with your surroundings.
