I wanted to ask if any of you guys have any idea about Brad's part lyrics in "Until It Breaks".Don't they seem kinda' creepy ? Like : " The body bends until it breaks,Then sings again no more." I also want to get feedback about his part,do you think he sings well ? Do you think he should do more vocals in the next records ?
I don't really like it. I bet they've kept it in to not dissapoint brad for putting so much effort in it.
What I want to know is why did it make sense in the context of the song? I love it, but the lyrics contrast with Mike's spitting. Maybe that's the point.
That's the thing about Until It Breaks. It's just Linkin Park using experimentation again, which makes the song odd, but unique and creative.
I think Chester's part should have been longer and kept Brad's part and got rid of Mike's part. Am I the only one here who thinks Mike's parts are weird and the lyrics are too much Bragadocious type lyrics?
It's obvious he speaks about death. "The body bends until it breaks" (life) "The early morning sings no more" (death, you don't wake up ever again)
I don't hate it, but it could've been better. The reviewer descriptions made me expect this hard-hitting rap song with powerful percussion, and I don't hate what we got, but I would've loved to have that too.
I liked it, however I feel like the only reason it really popped out was because it was the first time they did it. If they were to do it again, although you may disagree now, you would be disappointed; it wouldn't be as exciting the second time around.
I think the rap is perfect. The second part is possibly my favourite Mike's ever done. It's a relieving and mature contrast to the "poor me, all isolated and alone." It really just comes off to me as an aggressive battle rap. And that is what's impressive about it.
That's the thing I love about Mike on this album. ATS was a bit more reflective, whereas this album feels like it's about fighting back. Even the songs that have that "poor me" twinge have some type of positivity to them.
I really like the melody. I don't know if it would sound better if Mike or Chester would have sang it, but Brad's voice definitely fits perfectly the atmosphere of the song.
lol yeah now I remember the article before LT dropped that said the new songs were about finding a positive twist in the darkest of times. Right... where in the fuck's name is the positive twist, lol. The only one I MIGHT be able to see that in is Roads Untraveled, but the rest are still POOR ME YALL
It's not necessarily marigolds and roses, but the new tracks are more "This sucks but I can fight back" instead of "CRRAWWLLLINNG GINNNNN MY SKIINNN" Lost In The Echo - Mike's verses Burn It Down - Destruction as a form of creation basically Lies Greed Misery - Again, while "this sucks" the track is almost like a sick revenge statement rather than "my life is terrible" I'll Be Gone - Not really positive or negative Castle of Glass - I think this song is really uplifting. It's accepting one's own finiteness and inevitable insignificance in the grand scheme of things. "Hardly anything else I need to be" is a VERY positive yet real statement. Roads Untraveled - Probably the most positive song LP has written yet. Until It Breaks - Again, the raps are more fighting back and Chesters and Brads parts are more poetic than angsty here. There's still angst but a WHOLE LOT LESS than their past efforts.
