That's awesome. I was just watching a special on the Discovery Channel the other night about giant squid.

 

Could you imagine how people felt when they first took video of it in the early '80s?

I'd just sock it in the face and go "Now that's what I call a close encounter!" with as much gusto as being underwater would allow.

I mean it does look a lot like one of the aliens from Independence Day.

I agree, though I am trying not to get all heated up about this until it is indeedy properly verified. Alarm bells always ring when I hear the word "Discovery" hello the whole big foot thing turned out to be a man in a suit This could just be someone in an unclean swimming pool with the camera zoomed right out filming something made of latex that looks like a squid.

The co-ordinates and everything at the top of the screen can easily be faked. Sorry to sound so pessimistic... But I am not gulliable anymore and seeing this si coming from shell... Come on, a huge rich company could easily afford to make this thing up and dupe us.

I want solid proof first please

 

I don't see why it shouldn't be real. You just have to look at the Coelacanth to see how things can slip under the radar like that, so to speak, for so long. Then there's the fact that there are already various different species of deep-ocean dwelling giant squid, and the colossal squid, which are actually bigger.

God, do squids scare the living hell out of me.
