Personally, all I have to say is let Linkin Park do what they want. You don't know you're not going to like it until you give it a try. Kind of going off the subject but it really bothers me when people say "Oh, I'm not buying the Cd cause I hate rap" No. You cannot hate an ENTIRE genre of music. It's just not possible. So maybe you should just give it a try, and maybe you'll be pleasently surprised.

How the bloody hell can you judge it without listening to it? [/b][/quote]
I am speaking of J Z's lyrics. I have heard some of his singles and do not like his style, his music, or his lyrics. Now unless he somehow manage to rewrite everysong in it's entirety (making it a new song) then I will not like this CD.

That doesnt seem to make sense. You dont like Jay-Z lyrics/style to begin with, "unless" he rewrites everysong to suit the mood and style of Linkin Park (and vice versa) you will still not like the cd.

    lol.

I agree if you dont like jay-Z or dont appreciate rap then theres no point in wasting your money on this, just wait till LP's 3rd album comes out late next year.

Agreed. If you don't like this, ignore this. Or buy it and throw it in fire if you don't like it. Or just download the songs and delete them if you don't like them. WHATEVER you want, just STOP BASHING your "favorite band" for making what for me seems like an awesome collaboration with one of the biggest stars in hip-hop today. LP isn't your typical "rock band", LP is a fusion of styles. So is justifiable they would do this. You don't like it, ignore it. And stop doing this.

I like the matchup. I think Jay did an awesome job to sing his part of the newly redefined Numb instrumental.

    Pros:
    -New Instrumental
-Jay-z rapping over it of course xD

    Cons:
-"What the hell are you waiting for!!" .. ehh I know it's Jay's lyric but it didn't go with Chester. It sounds too "cheap". They could of redone that to make it fit and sound stronger.
    - The original numb instrumental and parts. [Well this part is my opinion I never actually like the original Numb]

p.s.: Don't tell me how matchup can't have new lyrics. I wasn't asking for a new lyric. I was refering to if they already made a new instrumental with a new beat and pauses. Why not alteast put some effort in fixing that lyric?

    Yeah, it's pretty dope.

Lyrics now on the lyrics page in the "Other" section (you can find them at the bottom).

    This song sucks.

The production quality of it is less than thrilling, to be honest. I expected top notch quality from Jay & LP, but I got something that sounded like they recorded it out of a dingy basment.

Neither songs are terribly good to begin with, and this just proves it further. The mash-up idea is a good one, if you're a DJ at a club.

Why Jay-Z & LP just didn't do a whole record of new material confuses me, but whatever. I guess Jay is sticking to his retirement. Yeah, that'll last.

Anyways, I won't be buying the CD. Just judging from that one song, it sounds horrible.

Well you have to remember that Mike and Jay-Z didn't plan on making an album in the first place. To get the mash-up right for the Roxy performance, both parties agreed that doing a studio version (not the best, albeit) would help them hear what the live version should sound like.

So as you see, they didn't really plan an album, so the music reflects such. That's why there's so much joking around in the tracks (as written in another source). You think the production is bad, it's because it is.

As for me, I think it's pretty cool. Something I'd listen to when I chill out with my friends.

Yeah, If I wanted bad production values and joking in between songs, I'd listen to a local punk CD.

I expect alot more out of them.

    They've really dissappointed me.

/I/ happen to think it was live.

Sounded like it to me, especially with Mike.

Can you explain the lack of crowd noise then?

    I heard people screaming.

EDIT: And a crowd doesn't necessarily have to be loud, I mean, if it was at The Roxy then it was in a club and not like a huge concert.
