The song was written in 2010, likely during the A Thousand Suns writing sessions. The remaining five songs will be released bimonthly through the next year. If you are a current member of the LPU, you can download the song here. Have you got a current LPU membership? What did you think of the song? Excited for the rest? Join the discussion in the forums! I was hoping for 2010 era LP demos, looks like I'm getting my wish, and of course it was good like I expected from that era. It's cool to see more demos with vocals too. Obviously unfinished and short, but had a lot of potential. Man, LP really was on the ball with ATS when even the demos had some great ideas. Hoping they bring that creativity towards LP7 along with the energy of THP. Edit: I wish this was an instrumental track instead. Again, vocal demos are neat, but they're usually rough. Here it's no different, the instrumental by itself probably would've been the better way to release it. Good demo otherwise.
Great demo. Reminds me of Kings and Queens by 30stm. I cant imagine how this would've been with finished vocals!
That right there is an awesome idea! I wish LP would do a contest for writing lyrics and singing over their instrumental demos. I can't begin to tell you how many time's I've sung and screamed nonsense over Malathion+Tritonus
Fuck, this had potential. The melody is pretty great. Chorus definitely makes me think of At The Drive In, Chester sounds very different there. Didn't Mike said back then he had just made a song which sounded like At The Drive In meet electo meet psychedelic or stuff?
I am a LP Underground member with a free trial account, and according to the OP: "free download to current Linkin Park Underground members, including those with free trial accounts"
I really liked this demo. Definitely a great insight into the kind of music they were making during the ATS sessions. My guess is that it probably wasn't worth developing any further because of the erratic direction they were taking. The quality/potential of the song most likely prevented it from receiving any drastic changes.
It was open to free members at first, but it was most likely an error, as the free trial page states it doesn't include music downloads
Eh, I was really excited for this but this being something more complete and awesome but it's pretty meh. I mean, the bass line is awesome and is something I wanted to hear in a LP song for a while, but the chorus melody is less than amazing to me and the vocals are pretty dang rough. I like Chester's aggression though, and it definitely had a lot of potential. As far as it is, though, I probably will never listen to this again.
Yeah, as TripleXero said, it was avaliable at first probably due to an error. I've removed it now (just woke up haha). Sorry for the inconvenience.
