According to IGN, Eidos Interactive are set to reveal the first details about an apparent remake of Tomb Raider 1 for the PSP gaming console. This is particulary interesting due to the fact that this is stated as a remake and not just a port of the original PS1 version. Could this be a remake of TR1 with the Legend PSP engine? Only time will tell. Either way I will be picking this up. Source: http://1up.com/do/newsStory?Dispatch=Display&cId=3150433
I hope if they redo it, they give it a tune up. Not looking foreword to it at the moment. However, if they're using the engine and only fixing up the graphics a bit... it'd technically still be a port... just altered graphically, lol. Thus, I say if they're calling it a "remake," they "remake" it with a newer engine and something more, something that'll give us reason to play Tomb Raider on our PSP rather than Tomb Raider: Legends.
This would be pretty pointless to make when the Playstation 1 emulator for the PSP is going to be released later on this year by Sony anyway.
Sounds pretty cool if you own a PSP... also when you're a huge fan but I wouldn't buy a PSP just for one game.
While it may be pointless to you Nate, the original Tomb Raider with all the new bells and whistles of Legend would be a masterpiece. If you combine TR1's challenging puzzles and platforming with Legend's graphics and gadgets..and improve the combat, you come out with a masterpiece on t3h PSP.
