I'm sorry, I don't know where to put this thread. So, Staff, feel free to move it.

Ok, I have a problem. See about 2 months ago, I got a new (no-name) bass. Before then I had a 4-String Fender (don't know what kind, it was a 1989), that I had gotten from my uncle who has been playing bass since he was my age. But I had to get a replacement bass for the small amount of money I had, for a few reasons: the fender was so old that the nuts had been to rusted to oil, and you had to turn the knobs about hundred times just tune up or down one note. The bridge had come loose and made all the strings flop around when I would move the bass. And one of the (can't remember the name, not the jazz humbuckers but the vibrators or whatever) were loose, and would come out and just fall to the ground, making a very very annoying buzzing sound.

    Now the real problem:
Since I only had a little bit of money, I had to get a decent bass I could play for the amount. So I went to a local music store, (actually I was gonna get the fender fixed, but I didn't know that....)a guy came up to me, and looked at my bass and goes: you see that one over there? $145, it's brand new. The only problem is that it's a no-name, and if you ever need help on it, there is no official website or any other people that can really help. Well he gives it to me, and I sit down and play it. It sounded excellent! So I talked it over w/ my mom, and we got it.
Now the problem (I know I've said it once before, but this is it) is a few things, and I would appreciate it if you could tell me I'm just doing something really stupid, of if there is really something wrong:

    1. When I hold down certain frets, on each string, there will be just a buzz, and not really a sound. And when I tune up, the buzz the fret is on, goes up, and when I tune down, the fret the buzz is on goes down. (I know I'm not holding directly on the fret, I've made sure, and I know that I'm not to far away, I also made sure.)

    2. Do you know where I can get a new nut? The little U shaped things where the string goes in, is broken off on the G string, so the first fret doesn't make a sound, and the second fret sounds like the first (so on and so on) and many times just the G string will buzz, just by its self.

    3. When I tune down, my A(default) string and my 2nd D(default) string buzz, and don't produce notes. The only string I can tune down is the D(top D, I have the E tuned to drop d), and I can only tune it down to a Bb otherwise it's to low, and you can't tell the difference in notes, and the string is really floppy (i know that the stuff with the B string is gonna happen, im just stating)

So if you know how I can fix one of or all of these problems, it would be very helpful!

P.S. I know its kinda long, but if you read this far, thank you very much. :)
