At least he doesn't hate "The Requiem" so I guess the "robot girl voice" which is actually Mike will be cool.

Hold on, stop the convo...if this guy is right...do I count SIX interludes or intros?

Requieum, Radiance, Empty Spaces, Jornada del Muerto, Wisdom, and Fallout?

That's 6 out of 15 tracks that don't even have real vocals on them?

That means we're getting a 9 track album?

I corrected my math, and I'm sorry but I've been following the ATS news pretty closely and didn't realize that 6 out of the 15 were not even songs. This is a bit disappointing to me.

hence my edit you ninja you! :ninja:

anywho, the interludes are there for a reason, i would just wait to hear the album in full to hear why they put those interludes in. its meant to be a journey.

They are songs, just without vocals. Not a problem for me though.
And the short Empty Spaces with crickets and exploding bombs from afar, I like it.

pisses me off to. I was told there was 15 tracks, then like 11 actual songs now 9. This album better blow my head away like W&K just did

OK. Well, I've always let new material from LP grow on me, and I am usually pleased. I'm not complaining about the actual songs, I like The Catalyst and W&K, but 9 songs seems a little short to me...

Yeah the interludes may seem irrelevant by themselves but in the context of the album as a whole I'm sure they create the "journey" now that I think about it, the guy in the review actually might have gotten something right by comparing the album to a movie in how the songs and interludes are sequenced.

It's hauntingly beautiful, I really thought it was a female voice, until one of the Warner Bros Execs told us it was Mike's. Then it became disturbingly hauntingly beautiful.

The interludes serve as sort of bridges to connect the songs together, they worked in my opinion, other listeners thought they were pointless.

Couldn't agree more. It looks like they make fun of the record. Wrong sarcasm, not Minus quality one lol.
I didn't like their piano comments but it made at least increase my curiosity about how that instrument will be present on the album. The Requiem with "sparse" piano notes could mean something like the soundtrack of the game Defcon, post-nuclear-apocalyptical.. chilling.
But returning to the review, they cannot write shit and... BeNington all the time?? Not once but like 6 times maybe(didn't count them)? Seriously? Cannot even spell the name correctly...

A last note: i don't believe they are open to a new kind of sound. I had this impression.

From the start where they claimed M2M was not a departure from the past sound I was skeptical of the judgment of this reviewer...

Don't take critics seriously. They're usually terrible.

Example: Justin Bieber's two albums on metacritic are higher than any of linkin park's albums.

They did pretty good job on rating lil wayne's album that came out this year. It was HORSE SHIT.

Did you miss the thread about the lenght of the songs around 1 month ago? A song that doesn't go further 1:30 is an interlude to me, and all those songs are in average of that lenght, a few even shorter, aside The Requiem which might be a nice plenty intro. If some or all of those interludes are instrumental, where's the problem with that? At least we could hear by The Catalyst and W&K the vocals are amazing on the full lenght songs :)
