    Do you think it's possible?

I do. Let me tell you why. When I logged on today everything was different, Meteora is up for preorder and the theme had a weird design Normal, right!? Nope, where I'm from things are drastically different. I don't know how to explain it except that I've somehow traveled from 2012 to 2002 and boy are things crazy. I don't expect anyone to believe me but it's true. I have nothing to offer as proof except that our Linkin pals are going to do an 180 on us and many of you are going to be super pissed! For others, in 2010 you will experience full orgasmic bliss via your ear drums. That is all.

Even though I can't offer any proof, I'd like to know what you all think about time travel. So, thoughts?

I think it is possible, but God won't let it happen

It's impossible to travel back in time given what we know so far. It is possible to travel forward in time, however. The closer you approach the speed of light, the slower time will become for you (or whatever is travelling that speed). You'll still be experiencing time the way you've always perceived it, but the outside world will be zipping through time quicker than normal. Time dilation is pretty damn cool to think about. Relativity makes your head spin.

I can't say for certain if time travel is possible or not, but I think if it were then it would be the sort of time-travel where nothing can be changed, a predestination paradox. If one were to go back in time, they wouldn't be able to alter history at all. I think that sounds good. At least, that's the way I like to write it in science fiction. >.>

It's something only the LPA could achieve.

It will be in the future, but I dunno when. Probably sooner than we all think, look at the technology only 10 years ago and look at it now, its crazy.

Time can speed up, a la relativity, but you certainely can't jump in a time machine, type in the desired date and find yourself there.

I don't think thats something we're going to achieve.

The future is now. And in two seconds. And in two minutes.

I believe Time travel is possible, assuming Einstein's theory of general relativity is correct. Light is the holder of time itself. It is possible to travel forward in time as per travz21's comment which is true. Although time travel backwards can be possible aswell, if we can somehow manage to travel faster than light. When you travel faster than light, we effectively start moving backwards in time, since light cannot catch up to you. Additionally, you can also pause time if you travel exactly at the speed of light. Pretty amazing stuff.

I also strongly agree with Serenity's theory of time being completely fixed.

Isnt traveling in a vehicle considered as time traveling? i mean we cut away time from traveling in a vehicle ..walking to a place can take up to 20 minutes but going in like a car willl take u about 5...Pretty much Everyone is time traveling we just dont look at it like that :D

    Read into relativity again.

Time slows down as you approach/exceed the speed of light, but it doesn't go backwards or stop.

It does the opposite of stop. Something moving 100% the speed of light experiences time all at once. A beam of light that has traveled 13.6 billion light years would perceive it as being instantaneous. I believe scientists are conducting tests on this now to try to confirm if light experiences time or if everything is instantaneous. Or maybe there are no tests for this and it's already accepted in the scientific world. I can't really remember.

my mind boggles at the thought. But if we could create a spaceship that could travel the speed of light, could the events of films (a la "Planet of the apes") be possible? You travel to another galaxy, then return to earth. which upon your arrival is hundreds and thousands of years later? But i guess the same could be accieved with Cryo sleep? So long as nothing happens to you... blah blah....

Someone invent a Tardis god dammit xD
