great album. can't wait for the next two volumes. i think this will satisfy a wide variety of thrice fans while bringing them new ones as well. for those who complain about them losing their "hard" edge, there's fire. for those who got into thrice for their shift towards a more melodic side (a la vheissu), there's water.
Wow, this is some brilliant work. I've listened to Fire and I'm now listening to Water. Although, I'm kind of afraid they will have pulled their different styles too far apart and I think a mixture would be more satisfying, but maybe I'm wrong.
I love the new Thrice, but I don't think I'll ever love any of their albums as much as I love The Artist in the Ambulance.
which i personally call their weakest album. dont get me wrong, it's very good and at least 3,5 stars, but nothing compared to identity crisis, the illusion of safety and vheissu.
I know it's not their strongest album, but something about it makes me go crazy every time I hear it.
Finishing up Fire right now. I'm incredibly impressed, and even more excited for the concert in December now.
I was really suprised by Water to be honest. I never thought it would have been THAT good, you know? Makes me really excited for Earth and Air.
it's official. listening to these two EP's for over a week now brought me to the conclusion that the water EP is just a beautiful piece of music. fire is allright i guess, has a few downs but water is amazing. it's sad that derek will open up a thread in one year from now and tell us how he gave thrice a chance recentely and really likes the water EP. (go derek, listen to them! )
