Lets just say this album has grown a lot on me and the concert tonight didn't make it worse. It was amazing, the band made an AMAZING performance and Jared interacted with the audience perfectly. The album is amazing and so is this band! Enough fangirling for tonight I think or not.... xD
I... actually think this is a decent album. Don't get me wrong, I 'll take TIW over it any day, but.. I found it very enjoyable. I didn't mind the crowd vocals, i've never said anything negative about them.. I just thought the lyrics were very.. uninspiring. If you get over the lyrics.. this is actually a /good/ album. I really like it. I might actually buy it. I can see where they are going with this. Sure, it's not their best, but it's pretty damn ambitious to go in such a strange route but... it's a good album. It's enjoyable and the actual music is really good imo. I quite like this. I've changed my mind.
^Yes, yes he should. It's damn annoying. So, ECHELON, do you think I should try to listen to this album again? Is it worth it?
The album lost a bit of appeal for me, but it's definitely a good album. "Northern Lights" and "Do or Die" have been stuck in my head recently.
Up in the Air, Conquistador, Do or Die, Northern Lights, and maybeeeee The Race(?) are the only good things about this album.
These and End Of All Days are the only tracks i'd listen to as not part of the album. Conquistador is the best imo. It's still a good album imo, though.
I'm in love with this album still. End of all Days is definitely my favorite, but I like all the songs.
As a casual fan, I've heard TIW for 5-6 times and know some older tracks, should I listen to this? Seems like there are a lot of negative comments.
I'm a big fan of 30 Seconds To Mars' first two albums and most of the corresponding B-sides, but I understand that they might not go down well with fans who were introduced to the band's music with "This Is War" or their latest effort.
I personally think you should. The album to me is the second best 30 Seconds to Mars album (behind A Beautiful Lie) and it is in my top 3 albums of the year (along with Yeezus and 20/20 Experience). Really amazing album IMO. Second album this year that I actually went out and bought the physical edition (20/20 Experience was the first)
The instrumentals in this album are amazing. The lyrics suck, and they really ruin the record for me. However, I think you should listen to it and see what you think. Maybe you end up really liking it. The album is nothing compared to This Is War, though, in my opinion.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll listen to it. If there's one thing that bothers me about This Is War it's how amateur-ish the electronic elements sound. If the instrumentals really are amazing, I should like it.
So I've just finished listening to all of 30stm's studio albums in a row. It's ridiculous how pitiful LLFD ends up sounding in the end. Oh lord.
"City of Angels" is most likely going to be the next single! The song will be sent to radio on July 23!
