Just curious...has anyone else here been the victim of theft recently? I'm posting this cause my car got stolen last night...I found it an hour later, ditched for another, more expensive car. Damage is minimal (smashed lock, smashed ignition), but I'm still pissed off. It got taken from work...I went out at the end of my shift, and...bam, no car...grrr...anyways, anyone else here have anything like that happen to them?

Well, I was watching a basketball game downtown, and the secured parking lot was full so my dad stupidily parked in some parking lot a few blocks down, practically empty. When we got back, the emergency lights were flashing, back window was broken, ignition was cut open, they were trying to get into our car [an Acclaim] but they were unsuccessful for some reason, probably because the partner had gotten into the dude's van infront of us and got it started so the guy trying to jack our car just gave up on our car and took the van.

    Idiots.

Joe, ask your boss if there's parking anywhere that he can offer that's more secure or something. ;)

I was pickpocketed in NYC a couple years back. The thief took the wrong wallet, and wound up with several coupons for McDonald's, about a dollar in change, and a gift card to Borders with about six dollars on it. I hope he/she was disappointed.

    Incubus-Make Yourself
    Three Days Grace
    School of Rock Soundtrack
    Two mixes
    A couple more that I can't remember

If all of my CDs were stolen besides two...I would probably scream and cry and hate life for quite some time, because I have about 200 CDs and I love every one of them to bits.

I hate theft...eww. My aunt's car was stolen a couple years ago. As it turns out, the person who stole it was one of her best friends. Of course, they weren't friends after that.

I had my stereo headunit stolen out of my car along with all my CDs at a party last year, sucked a lot, but the head unit was half-way broken and had been giving me trouble incessently. I hope it gives the new owner hell. Honestly though, when I think back on it, I'm really glad they were in a hurry to get out, cause if they had looked around harder they would've found my wallet under the seat.

    THAT would have been bad.

I haven't really but my mate got mugged about 2 weeks ago, maybe less (I can't remember). They nicked his iPod and some money made from selling anti-racism bands, ironically, the people that mugged him were black.

I had my Chemistry book stolen a few weeks before final exams two years ago. I've had hockey sticks, tennis balls and at one time a fifty-pound welded steel hockey net from my from yard.
