I think now, thanks to "Maps" you all probably know who the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are, so....who likes them? \ My friend burned Fever To Tell for me awhile ago, and I didn't like it so much at first (the way she shrieks is a little tough to get used to) but after awhile it really grew on me. My favorite songs are "Man" and "Y Control."
My friend recommended "Maps" to me and it's now one of those songs I can't get tired of. Are their other songs in the style of "Maps" or is it a diverse album they have?
Thanks to Maps, they're the No No No's in my book. I swear they copied the drum patterns from A.F.I in that song. No style, no originality, no singing skills.
I like them...I heard maps and it was just another annoying song at first..but i just sat down and listened to it one day. Then i got my friend to burn me the CD. It's an amazing CD..i really enjoy..well..enjoyed listening to it. Until i lost it...damn it..i still haven't found it.
Silver and Cold
I just listened to them a bunch of times and it only sounds similar (to me) at the beginning...but maybe that's just because I suck at playing the drums. :wth: Plus, Fever To Tell was released on April 29, 2003. Sing The Sorrow was released in March 2003, if I remember correctly. Considering the period between when albums are written/recorded and released, it's kind of a stretch to say they ripped AFI off.
Really? Wow I didn't know that. I just assumed Sing the Sorrow came out first because Maps began getting playtime on my local radiostation way after Silver and Cold came out. And I'm obsessed with drums so I heard the similarity right off the bat.

Yeah (no pun intended) Fever To Tell was released way before Maps started getting any airplay...they had another single first, but I can't remember which song it was.
"Maps" is one of the most annoying songs i've ever heard lol. I havent heard anything else by them though.
I really like "Y Control" too now. Thanks for the recommendation! Any other good ones or should I just get the album?
I hate the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, mostly because they're one of the many bands that have the NME kissing their arses, whether intentional or not.

Their ok and everthing but I think the song 'Maps' is weird. :wth: I saw it when they played it on the MTV Movie Awards and uhh - yeah - strange. I never heard any of their other songs so I won't judge them based on that one song.
