Well I got the idea for this poem from several differnt places, and I tried several differnt style. This is the best that I could arrange it. A Promise Naught Bestowed The sky lights and then highlights with a shaded Grey Venus can be seen, it's the miracle of the day But the sky's color quickly vanishes along with the sun And the night howls with silver as the moon becomes an loaded gun Desperation sinks in while he runs and while others lay Until he can find a place that is warm, or to lie softly upon the hay He has no idea where his journey will make its end Same for decisions that choked him before he had to begin Loneliness creeps up more commonly than ever before A small window with no bed or even a sturdy floor The moon frowns down so hard, like a wood stove heated clay And Venus moves on as if it had to just look away In search of a home, with no where to go, nothing to do, but to run He's waiting patiently for the light of tomorrow to quietly come Imprint of Sullen Gloom Lying there with a book close at hand She longs for the comfort of a man Upon the stars there's a majestic glow No matter how bright they shine, they can't reach her though She remembers days from when she was ten The childhood hours spent playing joyously in the sand No matter how much green there is in her purse She can't buy the happiness that love is worth With eyes that close gently now There's a wind, that's the nights impressive howl It blows the flowers that drift up off the land And in her dreams she wishes it was her carried away by that fan In search of a comfort that'll gently glow She's waiting for a miracle bestowed after a new found low The Promise Becomes That of the Sullen Gloom Echoing echo he hears in his voice Giving up seems to be the only choice Trying to not let his tears escape Recollections of his very first date invade She was beautiful, he was clumsy She was brilliant, he was just a dummy Memories churn in eyes that shine with their moist A whisper recalled in her dream upon the bed where she layed She can still see the hands that caress her skin, a memory saved He was handsome, she was clumsy He was brilliant, she felt like a dummy Lips locked in a fevered passion, the girl and boy It was then she learned that love is not a toy And eyes gleam with purity of dreams so moist That Sullen Gloom Melts of Wonderful Promise Ah, a chill a smile is found! A faint rasping oh, that lovely sound Before this the past had hurt so much But now they're consumed in each others touch She laughs at the sight of him in the barn Her eyes glowed while his cast alarm Worry not she said as she offered her hand A smile reached her, oh that touch of a man Stranger he was, but stranger he is not A new beginning for both had been sought She opened her door with soft concern He opened his heart.. And did it happily burn! They're lips lock once again, a moan in unison In the end a marriage was held with not any indecision
