I agree with a lot of their choices, which is weird because these award things usually suck.

I agree with very few of them, at least the Top 5s of each.
Guns N' Roses for Best Rock Album? Hell no.
How in god's name does Marilyn Manson beat out Nine Inch Nails in Industrial?

    oh well.
I guess this doesn't mean anything.

I'm going to take issue with this one, seeing as I know more about punk than most of the other genres.

Much as I love A.F.I., Sing the Sorrow is NOT a punk album, besides that it's not even their best work. I'd reserve that title for either Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, or maybe Black Sails in the Sunset. The Offspring...well, while they might deserve a place on the list, should definitely be lower down. As for Bad Religion, replace it with Recipe for Hate and knock it up to the third spot.

I really can't argue with Dead Kennedys, NOFX, and Descendents, but Green Day? Come on. Where's The Exploited? What about The Unseen? Circle Jerks? Operation Ivy, Assorted Jelly Beans, or even freaking Mojo Nixon?

I dunno what those writers were on, but I'm going to avoid it if it'll make me think that Dookie could be considered a great album.

What the hell, Kill Em All is 23 years old.

Metal list was bullshit, Far Beyond Driven is better than Vulgar.

maybe the only choices I agreed with were Morbid Angel in death metal, and Opeth in prog.

    since when was SoaD metal?

Around The Fur is better than Iowa and Korn, but then that's just my opinion. Celtic Frost and Hundred Reasons rule, by the way.

WTF! These lists are horsecrap! How is there so much Metallica? They aren't that good. AFI should be on the hardcore punk list, but not "Sing The Sorrow", that album is totally emo. And "Dookie" by Green Day? Korn IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT GOTH. System Of A Down is HARD ROCK not metal. If System got two slots in metal, then Hell knows Mudvayne should have had at least one slot in the metal list. How come there's no In Flames on the metalcore list? I hate NIN and I still think Marilyn Manson shouldn't have beat them.

I think with Metallica and Green Day you have to bear in mind how influential they've been. These lists aren't always solely about quality. Having said that, Dookie is one of my favourite albums regardless of what a lot of people have to say about Green Day.

Other than a few cases where I think such-and-such an album should be above so-and-so's, along with a couple that weren't even included, I couldn't really argue with those lists.

When did Marilyn Manson become industrial? And the Post-Hardcore list is bullshit.
