I have to make a thread for this awesome band, Thrice.

    Thoughts on new album?

I think it's solid, i think it's better than the first two volumes. I like there acoustic sound a lot and Air is just awesome.

I haven't heard V-whatever yet but Illusion of Safety and Artist In the Ambulance are pretty damn good, particularly the latter.

Yeah and to add to my random thoughts about Thrice i think they're progressing perfectly as a band.

Oh and 5 points to whoever can spell the V-album correctly without looking at whatever can help them.

this band is one of my absolute favourite bands. i like/love every album they put out.

"the alchemy index" is one epic journey and will be memorized, im sure. i prefer a mix of both volumes:
    1. water
    2. earth
    3. fire
    4. air

even though i love their experiments i would like to hear another "old school" album as their next output.

of and you should check out "Vheissu", one of their best albums to date!

    Yes, very talented band.
I don't know why but The Artist In The Ambulance is definitely my favourite record, but Vheissu can really show what they can do.

I think Thrice is amazing. I've been into them since The Artist and the Ambulance, then went back and checked out The Illusion of Safety [I've yet to get Identity Crisis] and bought Vheissu on the day it came out. The Earth Will Shake was one of my favorite songs of that year, and probably my favorite song by Thrice. Vheissu is a huge, epic, artsy album with a definite theme to it, and it takes a while to grow on some people because it's a definite change in style and sound.

As for the Alchemy Index, it thought it was an awesome idea from the moment I read about it. When I heard Fire and Water, I was stunned by how well each album seemed to capture its element. It felt like forever waiting for the 2nd volume to come out. Ironically, when I first popped Air into my CD player, it was a very windy day and it really complemented the disc well by setting the mood. I listened to that disc all day, falling in love with Daedalus [I've always loved the mythology of that story]. Today I finally listened to Earth, and it gave me goosebumps at times. I've got to let it sink in a little more, but I'm amazed by this band and this project. Having a sonnet at the end of each volume spoken from the view of each element is pretty fascinating. In short, I'm really excited to see what this band does next. I hope someday I'll finally see them live. But for now, I'm going to listen to the Alchemy Index on shuffle all day. It doesn't seem to happen often that a band's music really moves something inside you, but Thrice does for me.

How's that for a short essay post?

I think Thrice is incredible. They've been one of my favorite bands for a long, long time now. The first song I ever heard was "Deadbolt" and I was hooked.

I'd rank their albums in this way:

    1. The Artist in the Ambulance
    2. Vheissu
    3. The Alchemy Index
    4. Identity Crisis
    5. The Illusion of Safety

But it's hard to justify putting those albums in an order like that. They're all amazing, that's just my preference, I'd suppose.

Thrice is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. It seems the more I listen to them, the more I like them. Out of the four volumes, Id have to say Earth was my favorite, followed by Air.

Ranking all of their albums for me would look like this:

    1. The Alchemy Index Vol. I-IV
    2. Vheissu
    3. The Artist in the Ambulance
    4. Identity Crisis
    5. The Illusion of Safety

Okay, I'll say it loud and proud.

    I. Fucking. Love. Thrice.

One of the most influential bands for me as a musician, mixing some of the best post-hardcore around with experimentation up the yin yang.

    Top 5 Albums

    1. The Alchemy Index I-IV
    2. Artist In The Ambulance
    3. Vheissu
    4. The Illusion Of Safety
    5. Identity Crisis

My brother is about obsessed with this band. He's been playing all their new music for me and I have to admit it's pretty fan-fcking tastic. There's nothing bad about any of their songs what so ever. I'm just shocked they're not as widely known as other bands.

I'm madly in love with Thrice. My brother got me into them.

    So far I'm ranking it:

    Air
    Fire
    Earth
    Water.

but it kinda kills me to do that because they are all amazing for so many different reasons.

I'm also madly in love with Artist in the Ambulance and Vheissu. God do I love this band

I listened to the whole Alchemy Index all the way through a few days a go, and all i can say is it's breathtaking.

    5 points to Trumtram.

I will definitely check Vheissu soon.

The Alchemy Index is that sort of stuff that can give you a musical erection.
The musical quality that Thrice brings on this album is so breathtaking, there is some harder stuff, some acoustic stuff, everyone has there own place.

When I first heard some of the new songs Thrice posted, I was a bit disappointed because I was more of the Vheissu lover, but now Vheissu can't be compared to AI.

    Thrice = Love²
