Ok, as you all may know, I am a really really really huge Simpsons fan...so huge that my ex has given me shit on how much I quoted the show when we were going out. Yeah, I know...anyways, they are finally making a movie of the show that I love with all my heart no matter how crap it's become over the past few years. The good news is that the writers for the movie are 11 of the most prolific writers that the show has ever had, so it's probably not going to be a 90 minute new Simpsons episode. But for a hardcore fan like me, i'm not caring...i'm seeing the movie anyhow.

The link above actually has the new trailer up in which they premiered it tonight during the new episode of The Simpsons, and it's pretty decent...nothing amazing like Spider-Man 3 but I can guarantee in myself (that being my opinion) that this might well be THE movie of 2007 for me (that and Spidey). So mark July 27th on your calendars.

AHAHA: Between a rock and a hard place.

That's probably the most clever thing to come from a Simpsons episode in about 8-9 years.

The Simpsons might not be living up to the standards it set 7 or 8 years ago but it still beats a few more overrated recent comedies. What other programme has been on tv for 20-odd years?

Having said that, is it wrong that I'm anticipating the straight-to-dvd Futurama movie more than this?

    agreed.

the good thing about the movie is it looks like it has more of the "Futurama" animation over the Simpson animation. I might keep an open mind and go see it, but not really sure if i'll see it in theaters or rent it on DVD around this time next year,
