Any fans? Yes there has been many 'Shins threads claming that there may be an album soon, first in 2010, then 2011, and now there may finally be one, in 2012. It will be distributed by Columbia and released on Mercer's label Aural Apothecary. Back in march, James Mercer debuted an yet to be titled song at a concert, and now as an official tour is in progress the song steams ahead. http://www.billboard.com/news/the-s...turn-with-tour-2012-album-on-1005300842.story Listen to the song being performed below. That song is ok. I've barely listened to them for ages. At this point, I probably like the Broken Bells album more than any of theirs.
I've listened to 3 The Shins songs: New Slang, Caring is Creepy and Phantom Limb. Haven't really seeked out any more of their stuff. Maybe someone should recommend me some of their stand out songs.
The Shins are one of my all time favorite bands. All their shit is so good. Wincing The Night Away is my favorite album and also holds some nostalgia for me. Chutes Too Narrow is a close 2nd though.
Listen to the entire album Wincing the Night Away. It's actually quite a narrative story when it all ends. There's a beginning, a middle and an end with the last song acting as a sort of epilogue. It's pretty awesome. But, if you just want single songs try Sea Legs (Has a bit of a hip-hop beat with some electronicesque breakdown) Girl Sailor Australia The Golden Sun Red Rabbits Mild Child Mieke When I Goosestep Girl on the Wing Mine's not a High Horse A call to Apathy their cover of When we become Silhouettes by The Postal Service. Turn a Square Girl Inform Me If you want something a bit different, listen to their stuff when they were called Flake or Flake! Music Songs: We built a raft and we floated Those Bold City Girls Eating St yes from Elephant Eyes My Seventh Rib ^ these are all on Nature bears a Vacuum EP Damn fuck, they're all highlight songs. Every single song in the Shins library. There is honestly not one song I dislike... and Wincing the Night Away is my all time Favorite album..
That's awesome. But, it is quite a dark album for something like that... OH and damn me. I forgot to recommend TURN ON ME. and SPLIT NEEDLES
