I have been a fan of Linkin Park for a long time and I've seen how the community has changed with each album, but the amount of bitching and hate on Linkin Park in general this time around is almost too overbearing. I've never seen a fanbase that bitches and hates on their ''favorite'' band so much. Is this just a Linkin Park thing, because honestly I have never seen another fanbase like this?
LPA is kind of a bitchy site(actually no, only some members I guess). I have been a member only for a short time but I've reading this site for quite a while.Maybe its because there's so much hype on the forums before the album that I guess some get let down when the album comes. I love the hype personally. Actually, I don't think LP alone has a bitchy fanbase because the same thing can be said for any internet forum, comments section and anything else like that because these people spend a major chunk of their lives talking about a certain thing be it a band or anything else and not all talking can be positive. Sometimes, it's just them in a bad mood. It's just that on the internet everything gets recorded and you inevitably read it and think they really mean it when at another point in their lives, they would never say something like that. Seriously, you've haven't read some of the shit people post on ign boards and reddit *shudders*. How many people in real life, will ask someone to go kill themselves over an opinion? Now, the LP fanbase is a lot better than it used to be. People even on youtube are accepting that LP's change was a change for the better. Shitty comments are always going to be there, it's up to you to not let it get to you. Either I'm deep or I can really ramble.
I think the reason Bring Me the Horizon don't have that many sales is that most of their fans are pretty young, and many young people don't buy records.
I think that some people - far from everyone, let me tell you - are just guarded against showering unabashed praise Sometimes, that can manifest in looking for flaws to point out, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing
Sometimes, one person's "criticism" is another person's "mean or bitchy comment". Anyway, how is any of this relevant to the thread?
Guilty. Most likely due to poor promotion from their label. Sempiternal was their first album to be released on a really big label, and in a year, it's sold twice more than Hell did in 3 and a half years.
This is probably exactly why. There's a good amount of people at my school who listen to BMTH and barely any have bought their CDs, if any. Most of the time they just listen on Spotify.

It's been over a month since THP got released. It is already over half a million. They're not as huge as they were. This album didn't attract the mainstream crowd that much. Its just fans who bought it so I find 600,000 for one and a half months pretty impressive. They're not that big in America now anyway.
