Nice; thanks bro! I'm surprised 14SOG didn't do better than that worldwide with the huge success of "So Far Away" and "Price to Play". Their self-titled CD in 2011 did better than I feared. I still have hope that they have enough energy and label support to produce one more record for us die-hard fans.
This thread is amazing. Thanks for all the hard work Kaito. Quite disappointed about THP's sales tho. But yeah, lack of a popular radio single really does make a huge difference. Hopefully, the band will debut more songs at concerts which would eventually get people more interested in the new songs. Hopefully this album is a slow seller. Something that keeps selling for years and years and when we look back at the sales, we'd be surprised just at how much it sold in time. One can hope. That and LP needs to release another album filled with songs like New Divide and In The End to give THP a bump in the process
The controversial American nu-metal band Slipknot with their new set '.5: The Gray Chapter' found 251.000 buyers in its initial week, 131.800 of it in the USA, 30.700 in United Kingdom, are each 15.000 copies in Canada and Germany, 14.200 in Australia, 8.600 in Japan, and 5.900 in France. The previous album, which was released over six years ago in August 2008, climbed with 398.000 units at the top spot in the week 37, 2008. - Slipknot - .5: The Gray Chapter: 20,000 copies 2 weeks ago (thanks to early release in some countries) and 251,000 last week (so 271,000 in total) - Maroon V - V: 42,000 (733,000 so far) - Coldplay - Ghost Stories: 22,000 (2,786,000 so far) - U2 - Songs Of Innocence: 101,000 (321,000 in 3 weeks) - Linkin Park - The Hunting Party: 10,000 (855,000 so far, 250,000 in US) - Arctic Monkeys - AM: 9,000 (2,106,000 so far) - Imagine Dragons - Night Visions: 4,098,000 so far
No, similar. Slipknot sold 271,000 in 2 week. Probably without The early release it would sell 260,000 copies first week.
Well, now that LP and Slipknot are selling around the same amount of albums, this is quite depressing.
...because? Are you American? Slipknot are massive in the US, they're about as mainstream as a "metal" band has been in a long time.
I guess THP will touch gold within a year. Platinum is out of the question though. Still waiting for ATS to touch platinum.
