The Peaceful Storm I want to sit under Department stores shade Away from the gloom that the clouds sometime bring To watch as the rain showers soak the ground And as the thunder roars with impossible breath I wonder about the people that are fast asleep with the paradoxical comfort Maybe the Grey dew outside is seducing them like a sedative Because even when night falls, enveloping everything in sight People are fast asleep and go on dreaming peacefully I want to walk down roads I've never walked on On that ominous path leading up the mountain Where there is no life other than the wild I want to walk the line between here and there Even though I'm afraid too Is it strange that the day light scares me more? You can see the faces of evil not hidden Unlike the soothing comfort of darkness that's like a protective curtain I want to sit under the shade where the cool breeze stays Away from the gloom and into the dark shadows To watch as the rain taps merrily on the asphalt And as the lighting displays fireworks in the sky I should be frightened but the display is too beautiful I should be inside but the storm draws me closer And as the door behind me opens, people walk out of the stores air conditioning And to their cars trying to protect themselves from the dangerous storm My eyes watch them lazily as I sit under the Department stores shade Pls.
