Discuss the upcoming events of the Athens 2004 Olympics here. What sports are you interested in watching? Going for anyone in particular?

Well, being a Canadian citizen, I'd love Canada to win alot of medals, but unfortunately our forté is the winter olympics (go hockey! (w00t)) and I don't see us cracking the top 10 in medals by the end of the tournament.

I'd probably be looking forward to womens tennis a little more if Maria Sharapova was on the Russian team, but she wasn't picked for the team because it was too late by the time she won Wimbledon.. Women's tennis is pretty fun to watch though. Men's too. Go Andy Roddick!

The teams for soccer are pretty weird; serbia, iraq, and ghana being three obscure countries. I'm going for Argentina. I think it'd be hilarious to see Iraq do well, though.

Table tennis is very fun to watch. It's so fast! I think that'd be interesting to see.

And I've never seen a field hockey game, so I'm curious about this.

I won't be watching them that much (about as entertaining as Wimbledon, and just as disrupting to my TV schedule -_-), but I'll tune in every now and then.

You left out the .com in your link so I added it for you.

I read somewhere that one of Saddam's son owned the team and everytime they lost he would beat them. Now that they're dead and the team can compete without getting beaten they won.

There's an important lesson there, take the pressure off, and you'll do better ^_^

Anyone know if an tennis player named Mary Pierce qualified? I didn't see anything there

As Mark said, I don't expect Canada to crack the top 10 as generally, winter sports are our force but I still have some hope...
