well the album was originally going to be called "Chinese Democracy" but now because of issues that the new gun'n' roses album bears the same title they have changed it to "Splinter". lets hope its as good as there previous album. Here is the story straight from http://www.offspring.com ------------------------------------------------- Punk rock band The Offspring is changing the name of their new disc, acknowledging that the decision to title the album Chinese Democracy had somehow caused production to come to a halt. "That album title jinxed us," said singer Dexter Holland. The new Offspring CD will now be called "Splinter". The release is scheduled for December 02, 2003. i cant wait
10.01.03 - NEW DRUMMER NEWS! The Offspring have announced that drummer Atom Willard will be touring with the band starting this fall as they head out in support of their new album 'Splinter'. sorry for the double post but RON WELTY HAS LEFT THE OFFSPRING As of now, Ron Welty is no longer a member of The Offspring. "After more than 15 great years with The Offspring I've decided to leave to devote all my energies on a new project called Steady Ground. I wish Dexter, Noodles and Greg the best of luck moving forward and it's time for me to focus on my own thing," said Ron. The Offspring have hooked up with their friend Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, The Vandals) to play on the new record which will still be released this year. Dexter says "After being together so long it will be weird doing stuff without Ron, but we are really looking forward to putting this new record out. We wish him the best."
