Tool's a well-liked band on this board (well, sorta). And with their album coming out soon, I think it's a good time that an official thread is started. Like my Nine Inch Nails one, this might bring in new fans, and it will also be a place to chat about rumours and news you might have heard about the new album and/or tour. What We Know As Of March 6th, 2006: NOTHING That old saying, "Trust No One" comes into effect here. Blair, the webmaster at toolband.com, posts off-topic things on the site and constantly fools Tool fans. Around the time of Lateralus, the band and Blair mislead the media into thinking the album name was "Systema Encéphale". The point is, treat everything and anything you hear about this album as a rumour, even if it comes straight from the band's mouth in an interview. With April 1st coming up, I expect an April's Fools Joke similiar to that of last year (Maynard converting to Christianity), but about the album. But, regardless, as it stands right now, the rumoured album title is "Ten Thousand Days". It was even "confirmed" on Toolnavy.com and Toolband.com. Yeah, Tool goes Disturbed. Anyways, alot of fans don't believe it. I personally don't care, as long as the music is kick-ass. Other "fake" album titles have been "Aldaraia" and "Teleincision". Let the games begin!
I'd say it's most likely false. Either the report / "fan" wrote it up to fool Tool fans, or Maynard and Adam are lying (it's probable) when they say Meshuggah and Fantomas inspired this album. You can't have a slow album (like the review suggested it was) be inspired by Meshuggah. It's just impossible.
Seeings as this is the official Tool thread... Lateralus was good. .You're an official tool Casey, you fucking stalker
Does everyone forget about Undertow. I mean it probably is worse than the other two albums but it is still one ell o an album along with Opiate. Sober is my favorite Tool song.
Seriously...you go from Opiate, to Undertow, to Aenema, to Laterlaus, to fucking 10,000 Days. What the hell?
I hate titles of any artistic medium that have [insert number] days. 28 Days, Two Days Notice, etc. They are just corny and shitty sounding. Hopefully they are pulling a fast one on us and provide us with the real title soon. One can only hope.
I don't think they would name an album without it having some significance, unlike Disturbed's 10,000 fists that was just kind of a random number. One theory that has been tossed around is that its 10 000 days until 2033 which is the 2 000th year since Jesus died and by the Bible is supposed to be the Rapture or something. I'm sure they picked a name that had some intelligent backing. Anyways, I am looking forward to it...as well May 2nd will also be an awesome day as it is my 19th birthday
Leviathant from The NIN Hotline has made a Tool Hotline. Should be up and running sometime this weekend, hopefully.
