so back on topic, what is your favourite metal solo? I'm digging Dime's solo on Reborn at the moment.

the solo in Hate Me! by CoB is one of my all time favourite guitar solos.

 

So I forgot to add a band to my favorite Metal bands...

favorite solo is Herman lee in Through fire and flames

 

just about all of Bodom's solos are fucking killer

but if I were to pick a bodom solo, I'd say either "Children of Bodom" or "Downfall".

 

Shadows Fall - Inspiration on Demand's solo is fucking amazing. Just the way it starts gets you hooked.

I'm also nominating Damageplan's Wake Up and most importantly...

Pantera's Floods.

 

I dunno about solos, but Anders Bjorler and Patrik Jensen from The Haunted are pretty good guitarists.

 

The Haunted are very good all around.


Sweden is coming out with a disgustingly high amount of really good bands.

 

They always have came out with good bands, although The Haunted's drummer is Danish.

 

Isn't Lars Ulrich Danish too?

 

I think so.

 

Even though I loathe most solos, I think the solo on Deicide's 'Stench of Redemption'(the song) is fucking awesome.

 

Deicide has some of the best solos in death metal. I forgot about them.

 

So, anyone like Black Metal? Emperor are probably my main BM band right now, but I'm trying to check out some other stuff too.

 

if Cradle of Filth/Dimmu Borgir/etc are considered black metal, then I don't really like it. But I do dig Venom.

 

Cradle/Dimmu arn't real Black Metal, they are sortta the commercial version of the genre. I would suggest Emperor, Darkthrone, or Celtic Frost for the more brutal version of that music.

By the way, kick-ass name.
