I've heard stuff from Death and Opeth. Although not enough to say I love them. But the stuff I have heard I thought was awesome.
it seems EVERYBODY I know loves Opeth, even the people who don't like death metal. recommended Opeth albums = My Arms, Your Hearse Blackwater Park Ghost Reveries recommended Death albums = Scream Bloody Gore Human Leprosy Individual Thought Patterns
Trivium Killswitch Engage Slipknot Stone Sour NIN Ill Nino Hatebreed All That Remains Lamb of God Metallica really i only like ATR and Hatebreed's new stuff but its good enough to put them on the list. i didnt like the crusade at first but its grown on me but its still not ascendancy.
Okay...here goes nothing: NIN KoRn (although they get labeled a lot of other stuff now...) deftones (the older albums) Static-X Element eighty (they're selftitled album is the best...definately worth checking out) Soil (yet again the old stuff) (I have just one questions...which bands would be labeled speed metal and if the genre soft metal exists what bands would be put under that category?) (I'll post a few other bands later on)
I've always thought ATR's old stuff destroyed the new stuff...unless you consider TDH new. I liked it, but I'm turned off of Trivium FOREVER now.
I find the music good, but it's hard to enjoy it when I'm listening to the most fucking stupid egomaniacs ever.
Mike Patton, too. I'm pretty sure he hates everything that he hasn't been involved in. In fact, the only band I've ever seen him praise are Blondie.
