    good news vv

An Ocean Between Us is the title of the forthcoming studio album by As I Lay Dying, and is their follow-up to Shadows Are Security. Initially, it was thought that the name of the album was to be titled Evolution. The band finished recording the album on May 5, and is currently set for an August 21, 2007 release. The band worked on the album with producer and current guitarist for Killswitch Engage, Adam Dutkiewicz.

Can't wait for the new AILD!! Their new bassist supposedly has a really good voice and did a really good job with the clean vocals on this album. That was something I was worried about losing when Clint left.

Also on a side note, has anyone heard of the band Parkway Drive? Just got into these guys recently, kind of a Metal/Hardcore mix, sounds really good. If you like As I Lay Dying you'll absolutely love Parkway Drive. Listen to their song "Smoke Em If Ya Got Em" or "Romance is Dead". Romance is on their myspace, they have a video out for smoke em, and it's also on the new Warped Tour CD I believe. Adam D from Killswitch also helped produce these guys' record too :)

I've just been listening to Darkest Hour on the strength of their Dead Kennedys cover. Good band.

Their last two records are fucking great.

Still listening to Machine Head's the Blackening, and it still owns.

Yeah, I had made a thread about them in this forum a while ago.

I think they're awesome, but the lyrics aren't too great.

I still can't get enough of In the Nightside Eclipse, or Anthems. They are possibly the best Black Metal records ever. Hail Emperor!

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, Johnny Santos is in Silent Civilian? That's awesome! I loved Spineshank. I'm going to check these guys out.

Did not know he could play guitar that well...Did he play guitar in Spineshank? Thought he was just the vocalist.

I've got their last album, and it's got some standout songs. Not disrespecting the band.

The new Bad Brains is great, if you'd consider them metal.

Anyone heard The Serpent by Still Remains?
It leaked a couple of days ago, and it's really good.

They've really stepped up musically from their last effort, so it's a similar kinda sound but with more technical skill, and better vocals.
