Journey - Greatest Hits Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard - Gladiator (Music from the Motion Picture) Mark Mothersbaugh - Thor: Ragnarok (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Generally, I’m against Greatest Hits CDs, but I feel Journey is a special case. Much like a group like ABBA, Journey were more about the hits than the “album experience.” Journey don’t have many deep cuts that NEED to be heard. So this is really all you need. Going from meeting up with some friends tonight, I stopped at Movie Trading Company, and picked uo two really great soundtracks! The Gladiator soundtrack is incredible. It’s a bit funny Hans Zimmer went on to basically reuse some of the action cues for Pirates of the Caribbean. Additionally, I got the Thor Ragnarok soundtrack. I love that Marvel Cinematic Universe films over the past few years have been getting better, and this is definitely one of the. It was a stroke of genius on Taika Waititi’s part to hire the guy from Devo to do the score.
Got these over the past two weeks. Recently, I've really been getting into Killswitch Engage again, so I went out and got all the good ones. They're so good! Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies Killswitch Engage - Disarm the Descent Killswitch Engage - Incarnate Picked these two up tonight. Kanye's two best albums, and classic soundtrack! Kanye West - Late Registration Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy James Horner - Braveheart (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Glad to see @Gibs, the guy that got me into so much good music back in the day, embracing my favorite artist and his best work (Kanye and MBDTF). You are Odaton, right? You have the Porcupine Tree avatar and the love of Dream Theater that I remember.
I’ve had Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater avatars before, but I never have gone under the name of “Odaton.” I see you joined the site in 2003, and I joined in 2012. So I think you’re thinking of someone else.
Post Malone - beerbongs & bentleys I initially wrote off Post Malone because of some pretty crappy singles like White Iverson, but heard some new stuff off the new record, and was surprised by how great the production was. So I decided to pick it up
Pisces Iscariot-The Smashing Pumpkins Machina-The Smashing Pumpkins Vol 3. The Subliminal Verses-Slipknot
Frank Turner - Be More Kind Parkway Drive Reverence Two great releases! So many people bitching about the new Parkway for not being like their old stuff. I'm also a die-heart oldschool fan and I say grow up! They're still as heavy and kickass as ever imo.
Jon Hopkins - Singularity Listening through as we speak and it's shaping up as a nice follow up to his 2013 album, Immunity. Loving this bridge between ambient and EDM he's made
