A little bit worried about the songh leghts, ok, thats not all songs, but 3 minutes long make me think in the same formula Verse-chorus-verse-chorus-brigde-chorus and I really want some diferents strutures
This is weird. Why did we just get a few track lengths? Getting past that thought, I'm happy to see Final Masquerade is indeed a full track.
I think it's much more likely we get The Hunting Party as a 'First Play' on iTunes the week before it comes out, with maybe one more song released between now and then. Maybe. As for the track times I honestly couldn't care less. Faint was one of my favorite songs off Meteora and it was less than three minutes. If they're good songs they're good songs.
I'm just so happy the mix is far superior in the iTunes version. It's still not a perfect mix (some elements are too loud), but it's a decent improvement. I was so worried before when I heard the version in the video.
There's a lot more clarity and depth. Not enough for it to be a flawless mix, but it no longer sounds like a potato rip.
It's not shockingly different but it is noticeably more crisp and a bit more clear. Would definitely recommend this version if you are going to judge the song properly.
Based off of the revealed song lengths, and what I knew of the song lengths from the sampler (of which I am not allowed to state), the average track length is around 3:54 (when calculating an average). Meaning that unless one of the tracks coming up is GATS length, using the average length as a placeholder for the other tracks I'm predicting around a 35 to 45 minute album. Maybe not as long as ATS but longer than LIVING THINGS.
I have a feeling there will be at least one more song around GATS length. When are track lengths normally released?
This was my biggest concern from even just hearing the 15 second Instagram video that was posted yesterday. Glad to know that the mix gets better in a quality version of the song. Also, I don't see the huge deal with track lengths. Does a song being a little longer actually make it better? Honestly, when longer tracks aren't properly executed, the extended intros and outros feel uninspired and lazy. I'd rather have LP worry about quality (lyrics, instrumentation) over quantity (track lengths, tracklist).
Contemplating whether I should buy UIG in an hour, or wait until the lp.com album pre-order is available. I would imagine it might come with "high quality" downloads of GATS and UIG.
Tbh I was never expecting an hour long album from the band based off of the descriptions of the tracks. Having no songs below 3 minutes so far is decent enough for me. At least it's no victimized length songs this time around.
Well...LP DOES know how to make a long song. GATS flies by every time I listen to it. It's such a good fucking song all the way through. I definitely know they're capable of making longer songs without having them "drag on" lol.
Although I was hoping for longer songs in general (from 4 to 4:30 in length), the revealed track times may not say much about the songs themselves. Take Until It Breaks, for instance. That song is 3:43 in length and has one of the most unconventional and unique structures that LP has ever come out with. I'm thinking that at least one of the songs with revealed track lengths will be "different" somehow and not a traditional structure. Then again, we won't know until we hear them ourselves, so take what I said with a grain of salt.
