I admit, I was starting to become a little apprehensive, but this just restored my excitement tenfold.

If there's dubstep on this record, I shall thrust myself out of my second story apartment window onto the patch of concrete that is known as the back of Home Depot's parking lot.

    I hope he's not lying.

Same sentiments. Some people who ride the underground and indie scenes are pretty close-minded and condescending toward anything "mainstream."

I think the article ending is hyper-blasted with over-thought words and somehow made me think it was written by a huge fan of the band (hopefully it doesn't lack of objectivity) but other than that it was a very exciting read.

A good read indeed, but the word "Jarringly" in the article worries me a little.

Why do some people just assume this guy is lying when it comes to this article? Either that or just thinking this guy is warning them about how bad this album will be. *shrugs* I can't wait til June!! I want this CD now!!

Really appreciate the compliments everyone. Thank you!

As for the (predictable) "O NO DUBSTEP!" comments, you guys do realize that elements of dubstep have been around for longer than the 'dubstep explosion' has been, right? Dubstep actually is a deriative of Dub music, which in itself has some Reggae influences and Dub/Reggae has been around for over 30 years. Even so, the drum style and wobble bass isn't exclusive to Dubstep, it's just that dubstep is so "common" now that when people hear something that sounds like that genre they're quick to label it as such even though it's not.

Besides, even if Linkin Park *did* make a full on dubstep song, it still wouldn't sound like Linkin Park meets Skrillex, because Mike's style is drastically different then that.

If you get all the way to the check-out page, you'll notice they put a $5 charge on the 8 remixes that come with the pre-order, meaning the album is really only costing you 14.99, but if you wanna save the extra 5 bucks, wait till June 26.

This. I'm not a fan of dubstep myself. I go to NYU, and Electric Zoo (E-Zoo as it's annoyingly referred to) and all forms of dubstep are extremely popular among all the hipster kids I go to school with, but comments like that in an article don't worry me because I'm remembering one thing. We're talking about LINKIN PARK. Mike Shinoda has referred numerous times to using all the tools in the toolbox for this album, and as far as I know, Linkin Park music is not what most of you are afraid of in terms of a dubstep sound. There have always been eletronic elements in LP music, well before any of this dubstep non-sense, and even if some of what they produce shares defining qualities that "technically" make it a dubstep sound, I'm still confident it will be much closer to what we love about this band rather than anything Skrillex has put out.

It's not like they've decided to "go bonkers" again. They've done the opposite of that. The fact that they're comfortable enough to incorporate an obviously popular style like dubstep is exciting for me. But it's still Linkin Park.

Just wait. I'm sure they won't disappoint.

Why does the UK have to wait to pre-order? Like what's the problem :p
