Since this has been going on for quite a while now in an inappropriate thread, I decided to post a topic. Please check the "Mike Gives Details Regarding ATS...", pages 9-11. I would like to keep the discussion as clean as possible without bashing other bands and saying things like "they suck, fuck them" kind of stuff. Thanks. :)

I don't care how many shitty albums they put out, Metallica get a lifetime pass for Kill 'Em All-...And Justice for All.

Absolutely. However, people should be on the lookout for Iron Maiden's new album. I've heard snippets and it sounds crazy good.

I'll take all of those, but replace Maiden with Bullet For My Valentine :headbang:

Well without Maiden there'd probably never have been a Bullet For My Valentine.

I used to really like Bullet but they just got stale and their recent album is basically the same song over and over again IMO. Didn't like it at all.

    Maiden, Metallica.
Sabbath maybe, but I'm not a fan personally.

    This, times a thousand.

Also, we're having a discussion about Metal Gods... and Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch, etc. all get brought up? Maybe in 10 yeas, MAYBE, but right now? No. Not when you still have motherfuckers like Lemmy from Motorhead, Rob Halford from Judas Priest, Kerry King from Slayer, Dave Mustaine, (sigh) the guys in Metallica, and not to mention fuckin' DIO! I would say Ozzy but he's kind of a sell out. Worse than Metallica, actually.

I think Lemmy might be the king of Metal, though. Also, I'm not really sure what this thread is trying to ask/do. Refer to a topic in the News forum? No thanks, I rarely visit that side of the site. Why don't you flesh out this topic?

I like Post and Prog, not so much Doom or Death. I like a bit of Melodic Death though.

Then you must like Dark Tranquillity. Best melodic death metal band, and their live shows are incredible.

EDIT: Anyway, not the appropiate thread :p Maybe I'll do one for them.

Don't know why but I never thought of going much deeper into Death Metal,
i like some bands like COB, In Flames , Dimmu Borgir ( not sure if its death or black)
And i just love Opeth ( prog death )
I even loved their softer side,, Progressive Rock....the album "Damnation" was awesome.
ISIS, Callisto and Neurosis being my fav in Post metal.
BTw, has anyone here heard of Agalloch???
Thats one mind blowing band,,, You will like it if you're into doom kinda stuff
