Hauntingly beautiful. I love this.
I'm really loving the track. It kinda feels like their older stuff, mostly A Rush Of Blood To The Head, but with a new twist. The guitar on the ending is incredible... Honestly, after MX (I proudly say this is my favorite Coldplay album) I wasn't expecting something this dark. Also loving the vocals, which are lower (?) if that's how you say it... Looking forward to their sixth album.
One of the many reasons why I LOVE Mylo Xyloto is the massive scale of it's production. "Atlas" has a hauntingly awesome similarity to how Mylo Xyloto was produced, especially B-side "Moving to Mars", which is why I absolutely love this song and would immediately place it high on my list of favorite Coldplay songs! It's a great song, and a great way to fill the gap between Mylo Xyloto and the next album! EDIT: Dat Lyric Video is also freaking amazing on it's own!
Pretty neat tune. I wish it stayed low-key and haunting throughout instead of exploding for the chorus.
Hmmm, didn't really explode. It was more of a little step-up from the verses (except for the final chorus). I liked it.
I like this track! I bought Mylo Xyloto just to give it a try (and it was pretty damn cheap).. I honestly have to say that it left me unimpressed (Coldplay just isn't my kind of band, I guess), but I do enjoy this track! Makes me hopeful for their next album.
I feel the same way. It isn't that they are a bad band, but I don't care enough to listen to their music again. It's a weird thing. I like "Atlas" a lot and I'll check out the new album when it's out.
As I said in another thread, it feels like their Living Things: a song that has the collective sounds of their five albums. Don't you dare make me go into detail with that
I think in the perspective of the average Coldplay fan, a simple ballad would've been a bit disappointing for an album gap of 3-4 years!
Beautiful! Coldplay is one of my favorite bands, and this sounds absolutely beautiful. Nice to hear something new out of them! I'll give a more in-depth review after I listen to it more, but for now, all I have to say is that it's beautiful.
Same here. PS During the Mylo Xyloto tour I decided to stalk the Coldplaying forums and I saw you were a pretty active member there.
I just recently joined there. It's pretty unorganised and it confuses me with all the colors/double or triple posts being a normal thing.
