I don't get it. Rick Rubin is the guy that is hired to help them do what they are trying to do. It's not "We hired Rubin so he can tell us what to do". So if you don't like LP anymore, it's all on LP. Mike overrides Rick Rubin.
I say the end of one Linkin Park was Meteora. The beginning of a new Linkin Park was MtM...now let's see what ATS does.
I'm digging the lyrics except for the "lift me up" part, and maybe it's just my headphones, but this shit does not bump hard enough for me.
I agree about your Rick Rubin statement. He may be one of the greatest producers in the past, but I really think he's been bad for the band. Instead of incorporating elements they're great at, it seems like they're trying to cover a lot of different genres of music. I just don't like the direction LP has been on since 06.
: waits for you cant stand change/ mature music replies:
LP got an entirely new chunk of fans from MTM. Apparently they lost some too because of the new direction, but I still see those people keeping up to date with LP news (and complaining about it).
YOU CAN'T STAND CHANGE. IT'S MATURE MUSIC.
That still having him steer.
Guys I am aware that i'm posting in a Linkin Park forum therefore the minority will be unbiased posters with unbiased opinions. You go to any other music forum and these clips [and art of the album] are getting shitted on. I know for you guys LP will never die but to the music world, LP is losing its identity and going downhill fast.
These clips keep scaring me more and more.
Mike's vocals sound weak and girly...I like the previous clip of mike's part...it had some backing chorus...this clean one I don't like.
If the band loves it and keeps working with him, then it's obvious that he is good for the band.
Hmm I'll wait for the full song before I go and judge it.
Exactly. They don't want that old identity. That's the point. They're creating a new one without caring about the outside perceptions.
This snippet is awesome!!!
btw why do so many coments say that M2M sucked? I think it was a pretty amazing album.
LP is definitely not dying in the music world in any sense. They still get massive radio play, What I've Done, Shadow of the Day, & New Divide were some of their biggest hits, they are still doing massive sold out shows around the world, and it looks like the music world is promoting the shit out of this album. Therefore your argument is NULL, sir! NULL, I SAY!
Although you want it to be, MTM was not really mature music.
Seriously. Every time I turn on the radio (KROQ or Star 98.7) I hear In The End, New Divide, Bleed It Out, etc.
Looks like you failed to understand sarcasm, sir.
i havent listened to the chorus clip because i dont wanna spoil it even more now. but is mike singing the chorus and not chester? i did not expekt that and it kind of worries me. it just feels like that is chesters thing. but if it sounds good then i guess there is no problem. i seems very risky on a single not having chester singning the chorus but i hope it sound good
I have all three clips in order playing in repeat: EPIC!
I have just read my forums (Alternative Press, Rolling Stone, AbsolutePunk, Rawkpit) And I have seen a few haters, but where is Linkin Park "getting shit on?" I know you may not enjoy it, but don't put the band down and tell the fans that the music that they like is losing its identity and going downhill fast. You may not be able to embrace the changes they have made with M2M and now the ones they will be making with ATS. We don't need you telling us these things. You honestly think we give a fuck what the rest of the world thinks about Linkin Park? NO!
