Yeah, I'll be posting random thoughts about the world, and posting them all for you to read, think about, and or dissect at your own whim. If you agree, then agree and say why. Don't be a postwhore. If you don't, tell us why you don't. If you think I'm a radical or something, well, just get out right now. Anyways...here is tonights little rant. Who is the government, teachers... us...to decide what is right, and what is wrong? Why is murder wrong in the eyes of the law, yet they continue to condemn people to death for their "crimes". Why is it okay to bomb a foreign country, killing innocent people every day? Yet I can't go into a gas station and steal a fucking back of chips. Why? Who makes these rules? Why should I obey them? Why? Fuck your laws. Fuck authority. It's my life, you cannot tell me how to live my life. If I want to murder someone, who are you to say it's wrong? For that matter.. who am I to say it's right? Why are there even laws? To protect us from, what, so called anarchy? Give me a break. I'd take anarchy over a corrupt "government" (read: circus). Give me my freedoms, or give me nothing at all. If I can't do what I want, and live as I see fit... what other purpose do I serve? If I can't please myself, why do I live? To please others? No.
You know, in a way, you're right. But if people went around shooting each other, I doubt there would be many of us left.
I think it'd take a pretty goddamn long time to kill off 6 billion people. Nuclear weapons could destroy them in an instant, but a simple handgun? It'd take forever.

You're right, but I think that as long as you don't hurt other people it's ok. I mean, I don't think that people should be shooting or raping eachother, but they should be free to do whatever drugs they want and be able to have sex with anyone they want as long as its all consentual. But WE should not have to pay for these choices. People should be free to do what they want to themselves. There shouldn't be laws on what we do to oursleves. If we can't even control our own bodies, what freedom do we have? I think that as long as we're not hurting other people it should be fine. And I really dissagree with a LOT of the laws out there. I don't think people should really hurt other people, and should respect thier space and property. Life is too short to live your life afraid of the law.
The government believes they can do these things because they believe they're protecting us. Sometimes, they believe they must kill innocent lives to kill dangerous people, like the bombings in Iraq. Whether or not I believe this to be moral...I dunno...I'm a bit too lazy to think about it right now.
Casey, since I've started posting again, I've found myself more and more agreeing with you. I think you're right (being an anarchist). For most people, there's large enough incentive to not murder/go nuts on anybody as it is. I mean, as far as my observation goes, the majority of people would act the same anyway if legislation weren't present (except they'd have a load more money in their pockets). I don't think people need a state institution around to regulate their businesses, produce useless paper, or coerce them into doing things. One thing people fail to realize is that the government itself IS a monopoly on legal coercive action. Their sole means of accomplishing anything is to pass legislation and coerce people into doing something via force. Based on that definition, what purpose do they serve? Their largest reason for existence is to protect our rights and property...yet by their means of accomplishing things, they violate our rights as self determined beings, and by taking our tax money, censoring our words, ect., they're the largest violators of our property rights!
You see, I don't think many people would act the same. I know a LOT of people that only do what they're doing becuase laws are in place. Without them, there would be sooooooo much more looting and no one would want to work. We would destroy eachother. Who would do the trading? Who would do the printing? How could anyone agree on a payment? There would be no minimum wage so everyone would use others and steal from eachother. Without some laws, what could we fall back on? I don't believe in micro managing, but as a whole, we need some direction. People are a lot crazier than you may think.
Murder isn't something I'll ever agree with but reading this made me think of an interesting fact. Animals kill thier own kind (survival of the fittest) and other species, without ever receiving punishment for it. However, if a human kills another human, it's no longer survival..its murder. And if we kill an animal, its animal abuse. Do these laws exist simply because our brain is developed enough to show compassion?
Who'd work at power plants so we can use the internet? So we cant just kill Everyone. Thats why there's laws that contradict them selves by murder by killing the murder. So it'd be really hard to make laws that cant be contradicted. Any yes, Derekt hit Animals may kill for survival of the fittest, but we no longer have that need, we, as the human race, has adanvance and made life easy and made cars and guns. Survival of the fittest no longer is needed, its really survial of the smartest and fittest. But we can't kill anyone, because it'd be "bad" to some people, and yet, it's still death. And that doesnt change any differnent from any death of anyone else. The law says its illegal to murder. Yet, the police kill people that have killed that person in defence. Why so different to the people enforceing that law? Just because he killed a few, doesnt mean he should face death. (To me, What hitler did, thats differnt to me)Anyway, Why kill the killer when he just had killed 3 other people. [/badrant]
I don't think so. Look at a wolf, they show compassion for thier young. Many birds of prey mate for life, and die when the other is taken from them. Animals think and feel, they just don't do it at our levels and with our same ideals. I think these laws are in place becuase we live so comfortabley, and with soooooooooooooooooooo many other creatures, that to keep some form of sanity we need these laws. Survival of the fittest is for survival. Now we survive by having jobs and going to the doctor, not by killing people. We rely on this intrecuite web of people working with people working with people. Each thing depends on another and another. Its not like there is only one to look after or you live in a small pack.
Casey and Link04 said all the things that I've been trying to put down on paper for the last few months of my life. I've often laid awake at night thinking on this and I've never been able to word the thoughts the way that I've wanted to. I agree with them because "cavemen" survived long enough without laws or legislation to guide them but they didn't kill each other. They survived on what they had and that's something that humanity just doesn't understand anymore.
well animals all kill for just' reasons.. food or protection.. animals dont set kittens on fire and laugh while the little thing fries (some kids did that near my house).. We are the only species who know of our mortality and can expand and learn.. we are the only species that can protect and keep balance of every other on this planet.. from natures point of view.. we are the only ones who can destroy or save this whole planet.. we need laws because if we had anarchy the world would be fucked up because people themselves are fucked up.. yes, governments are corrupt.. but without the social structure we have, the world would be a far lesser place.. it would indeed be "survival of the fittest" if the world was in anarchy.. we would all become animals, cavemen if you will.. so who will keep the balance? I dont wish to live a life like that... sure we are bound in ways but governments do not control our lives.. they run the world and how things work.. but they cant control our lives and our hearts.. if you steal a pack of chips.. the dude next to you will do the same.. even if he wasnt hungry its a grim reality
Exactly. IMO Humans are animals but are on a higher form of intelligence. Thats why no matter what anyone's posistion on physical fighting is, it's natural. However because the Human race is quite weak we built weapons to make us stronger and now these weapons are destroying millions of lives which makes it unnatural. One person couldn't kill 50 people with their bare hands but with a push of a button or pull of a trigger all 50 could be taken out quite easily. However the Human race isn't all about violence, we have produced alot of productive stuff such as medicines and cures but the fact of the matter is that the Human race's nature generally is to progressivly destroy itself. One could say our smartness of technoligy is whats leading to our deaths. Now on to the law part; The government is all about keeping order and preventing chaos which is why parents tell their children the rules of life etc. however Casey has a good point, if we can't live our lives the way we want then why do we live at all? The whole law system is corrupt anyway so why should we follow something that is just basicly telling us to live our own lives?
Couldn't have said it better myself, Will. And in many ways, us killing animals is the same thing that a Wolf is doing for it's offspring. We eat animals/hunt to feed ourselves and our young. Since we are mammals too, I can only wonder why some organizations have a problem with that. Yes it is wrong to kill animals, but we have to eat as well. And since we are by nature, non-vegetarian I cant see the health benefits behind eating only veggies (meat has essential vitamins and proteins!). But yeah, sorry if I offended anyone.

[/b][/quote] Ditto. I don't get vegetarian groups and groups like PETA. The natural food chain requires us to eat animals, plus all the health reasons. And another thing, they're against killing animals for food. Plants are living things too. You eat a plant, you kill it. Exact same thing.

I totally respect a veggie friend I have, but occasionally, very often actually, she goes on a huge anti-meat rant. No offense to her, or veggies, but it's one of the worst arguments ever. The other week she explained to me, in a wild fury, why lions shouldn't kill deer.
