Okay everyone. I need your help. After watching Road Trip a few too many times and have formulated a master plan which shall hopefully occur in the summer of 2008. We are going to go on what I have titled The Boulton And Hardy Prom Crashing Tour 2008. This basically conists of us going for a trip to America and driving around the country to see what it has to offer. But! We will need your help if we're gonna make this trip a success. We've gotta organise dates but that will be done when we find out when each of our last exams are next year so this is more of a "who will be interested in helping us out if it were to happen" thread than an "it's definitely happening" thread. Anyway, I'm guessing you're wondering what we would be asking of you so here it is. Because we want to be entertained when we go, we would love any parties to go to and possibly even a little tour around where you live if that's what you want. Also, we'll be needing places to stay across America/places to charge our iPods (if it comes down to it I guess we can sleep in the car or whatever) but the most important thing is; we need to know of when any prom's are happening in your area. Now, we understand people may not be happy if you turn up with some randomers from the UK and you may get shit for it or whatever so we're not even going to ask that you come with us; we're just curious where they are so we can have some laughs and create a holiday of a lifetime. Well, that's pretty much it. But yeah, so far we've only talked about it and we're just trying to gather information and figure out if this would be possible so any input would be a great help. Thanks. Dedicated. Oh yeah, and if we appear like dicks for planning to crash proms where there's people we don't know, it's because we are. Hey, we wanna meet new people. The UK is getting stale haha.
Well... there is my senior prom on the 30th of May. You get to meet me, Misfit Jay, and a bunch of funny kids. and its at the Venice di Milo. :] if you even end up doing this, it'll be a bloody awesome time.
Is that this year or next year though? Cheers for the support, Will. Today we've hit a minor setback however. I've been looking through possible ways to rent a car or van for this trip and apparently you need to be 25 to rent a car over in America. So now, I'm looking at alternatives. We're considering buying a really cheap shitty car over in America as soon as we arrive however we're not sure how simple (or cheap) this will be considering all the tax, insurance, etc will be. Another option is that we organise shipping Hardy's car over to America and use that (although that may cost just as much). Other suggestions have been that we simply sack off the driving idea and catch a train or plane to each of our destinations (however this limits where we can go and will cost a bit). One final idea was that we hitch but I'm really not a fan of that idea. If anyone has any ideas of how we can get around this problem, please feel free to suggest them. We'll be really greatful.
nerrr just saw that it said 2008. well, jay and i can give you a tour of lovely Salem, MA in that case
Ahh gutted but that'd still be cool If you heard about any parties then you could inform us as well @Dean, as if
Sounds like an awesome trip and I wish I could help but I don't live in the US. As always that little detail ruining everything.
