http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Parade_Is_Dead! Okay, I know that this is Wikipedia, but I couldnt find any other source except for forums. So, this may just be a rumour, but I cant say for sure. Apparently in April MCR will release a 3 disc set titled The Black Parade Is Dead!. There is no word on what it will be, though its assumed that one disc will be the live DVD that there has been some rumours about. Personally, I hope that the one of the other disc includes some b-sides, maybe some covers and remixes, sort of like The Killers' Sawdust. The third disc, I have no idea what it could be. Or, maybe MCR is releasing a three disc album that takes place after the black parade, though that would be near impossible for an April release. It would be pretty awesome, though. What are your thoughts?
The site says its the live set where the band would come out as "The Black Parade", play the entire album, go backstage, get into MCR clothes and then do old school MCR songs as an encore of sorts. If so, then I need to check this out. Certain things have made me lose my love for MCR over the months, but this sounds bad ass. EDIT: Plus, maybe they're saving the release of the next single "Mama" for this stuff. Here's how I see it. Disc 1: CD of "The Black Parade" Disc 2: DVD of "The Black Parade World Tour" (along with music videos from the album and the first showings of the "Mama" video.) Disc 3: DVD of "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" (along with the videos for the album)
Why would they want to release another live album? Didn't they learn from the first one? MCR are terrible live.
MCR haven't released a live album before I don't think. They released Life on the Murder Scene, but that was far from being a full live album, just a few disjointed performances apart from the music videos and the biography lol.
They're sporadic live, actually. They were almost mindblowingly good when I saw them in Cleveland on Projekt Revolution, and then 5 days later on the Myspace webcast they were fucking terrible.
Yeah, that webcast was awful, but I thought they were good in Toronto for PR and the other time I saw them live at the ACC.
Pretty much. Back in the Revenge-era touring cycle, they were one of the worst live bands I'd ever witnessed. Now they definitely have their moments of brilliance. They keep improving as the years go by, though. Maybe this DVD will be awesome. *shrugs*
I was at the Detroit show that was broadcasted on Myspace and they really weren't that bad. I watched the recording after and the recording equipment they used or whatever was terrible. They were amazing when I was there but when I listened to the webcast, I wondered if it was even the same performance
I dont think that they would include the Black Parade with this. I mean, most of the people who would buy this probably already own the album. Im hoping that they do a 2 disc dvd, and then a CD of b-sides. I read that they had about 20 songs that they didnt put on the black parade. If they choose the best of those (or maybe put all of them except for the ones that have been released through singles), then they can put them on a CD and include it. Sort of like what Muse did with Hullaballoo Soundtrack (except that was only one DVD).
When they say the are including The Black Parade, I think they are referring to the live performance of it.
yeah i saw em at the Indiana Show and they were Fucking GREAT. At one point i think Famous Last Words Came on..And the crowd sang every word of the opening so Gerard just stopped singing like 5 words in and looked around and Smiled cause the crowd was so loud u could understand every word they sang. then he of course took over after the guitar Distortion kicked in
