After buying THUG 2 on Sunday and playing on it I have come to wonder what you guys think of it. Personally, I think that it's too unrealistic. Now, you might think that it's just for joking around and stuff, which is great, but I mean, they took it a bit too far. I mean, what the hell is the point of having Sasquatch and Ben Franklin in a skating game?

In THUG, the game was so much more realistic. No dumbass characters that you need to unlock to complete the Story Mode, etc. Also, the actual Story Mode was miles better. It gave reasons why you were going to a place and was split into chapters, whereas THUG 2 was just like "you're on tour and we're going there because we've got nothing better to do..." and there were no chapters to split up the Story Mode.

Now we get to the Classic Mode, for what it is, it's amazing. Old school version of the new game... with old levels added in to make it even better. In my opinion, they put too much effort into the Classic Mode than into the Story Mode, which needs improvement.

Obviously, you've got stuff like new online games and things like enhanced Create-A-... modes which take the game to a great height only to be brought down by the fuck ups in the Story Mode and music departments... Which is my next point... Why the hell is stuff like Frank Sinatra on the game? What the fuck is that? I mean, come on... Frank Sinatra? What's that for? Really old school fans of the game? Also, there's hardly and good music on there. Oh, by the way... THAT'S JUST MY OPINION! So don't go on at me about how much I suck because you like Frank Sinatra :)

*Insert end of rant comment here*

So, what do you think of it? What do you like and dislike on THUG and THUG 2? Oh yeah... THUG wins my vote... It's the best extreme sports game I've played on... *My opinion*

I prefer THUG 2, mainly because in the original you could go straight to a goal from the view goals scene but in the new game you have to find the person. Also, the soundtrack is great, and the boy in the bodycast owns. :p

As for Frank Sinatra, I quite liked that song.

I'm just on the last level on the Classic Mode and I've gotta say that it is amazing...

If THUG had this Classic Mode it'd be one of the best games ever, IMO

I haven't played THUG2 yet, but the general consenus from gaming sites is that it's a step backwards and from what I've heard and seen, i'd have to agree.

    THUG was excellent though.

They've milked it for all its worth. THUG 3 will be ridiculously repetitive. I haven't even been bothered renting THUG 2

THUG 2 really stretched WAY too many boundries and is killing what the Tony Hawk's series was about... and that's skating and keeping it real. Not adding in such characters as a main objective of the game itself. I loved THUG 2's new gameplay styles as it got a bit more innovative with the suped up scooter and the guy in the wheelchair.

I think that fans from the beginning (like myself) have been trying to give the Tony Hawk series the benefit of the doubt, but I'm losing faith. I was fine with THUG's gameplay and everything based around it, but I thought the story line was way too short. The story extended this time around, though still short and it just seemed to not flow as nicely. I mean, I didn't need to see Phil Margera in his underwear, I didn't want to play as Big Foot on some jacked up skateboard and I certainly didn't want to spend a large portion of my time trying to do things that were just down-right stupid. Some of the goals left me wondering "Why?" Not to mention I beat the game on Hard setting (still working on sick) in a few hours, the only challenges I see with the entire series (which I like most of the time) is beating the clock.

Classic mode definately steps up to be greatness to me and the TH-veterans, I think can agree with me when I say that Classic mode brings back old-school feelings. I think the most greatest piece to be added into the game is creating your own graffiti tag. It's just cool to see your own custom made (though you have a limited choice of items) sprays all over the damn place when you're skating? That really gives me that feel that that is my character, but aside from that, I smell carbon copy with a sprinkle of innovation on top for the most part.

I will, however be looking foreword to any other TH- games coming out in the future. Call me ignorant, but I can't get enough of the series. Until I see an exact carbon copy, I won't be tired of the series, though I think the TH- series is becoming what Madden and all these other sports games are becoming.. Since they release one every year or so, there's not enough content to really bring new innovation or new elements to the game and it just spins off as a carbon copy.

    Just my opinion, though.

I reckon THUG 2 was better than THUG 1.

The only problem I have with THUG 2 is the story mode. Its ridiculous the way your joining the other team back and forth all the time even after you've been selected after a crippled kid in a wheelchair
