LOL Radical Dreamer! Its great that you love them. They are probably in my Top 3-5 in terms of fav. bands. They are one of the most technically proficient groups, but they unleash that ability only at certain times, keeping their compositions tight and focused, not to mention catchy as HELL! B)

I cannot say enough about this band, they are probably THE most underrated band in metal/rock right now and its a shame they don't get more recognition, especially in their own country, the US (They are very big in Europe and Japan!). They can somehow unleash short(er), intense songs, but can also create huge 20+ minute epics, there's at least one song over 10 minutes per album. If you want some MP3 samples (the ones that got Radical Dreamer HOOKED!) go here: Symphony X MP3's. I suggest trying 'Of Sins and Shadows', 'Unleash the Fire', and 'Church of the Machine' to start!

So go there and experience the greatest underground rock band today! It sucks because I couldn't see these guys in concert because they could only play at a Bar and I'm under 19 so I couldn't go :(

Omg! I thought Symphony X came from Sweden or something  *feels stupid* Which state are they from? I would understand if they were an underrated European band but even in US rock mags they hardly get a mention! That's such a shame :(

By now, I've got quite a few Symphony X mp3s on my playlist: Of Sins and Shadows, The Requiem of Gods, Egypt, Evolution, In The Dragon's Den, Incantations of the Apprentice, King of Terrors, Out of the Ashes, Prelude, Sea of Lies, The Witching Hour, Accolade II, Masquerade '98, On The Breath Of Poseidon & Wicked. :D

Many more to come! I'm a bit miffed though. I checked their albums and they're all $20+. Import albums are so expensive over here!

They have two: 'The Divine Wings of Tragedy' (20:42) and 'The Odyssey' (24:05) and they are amazing ALL the way through!

PS. Radical Dreamer, they are from New Jersey.

edit: Glad you like them Mark! :)

Yup! That's where they are from. And I'm probably one of two or three people in my high school who knows about them

They are so amazing, it is a shame. It'll be amazing if they do a video, which may happen you never know, their new album 'The Odyssey' has exploded their fanbase in the US, they used to be unable to tour there

By the way: Chances are if you like Symphony X, you'll like Dream Theater, they are the closest in terms of sound, and DT is probably the only band right now thats more skilled than Symphony X. I'll create a thread of theirs now :D

Heh, I haven't heard of any New Jerseyan (word?) rappers, but I know it's a big hardcore scene.

I've got four songs by them.. all good. Out of the four that I have, I think I like "Sea of Lies" best. :)
