R.I.P. Syd. I enjoyed his work with Pink Floyd and he will surely be missed.

Wow. This is a shock to me. Piper at the Gates of Dawn was at the top of my favorite Pink Floyd records, and actually one of my favorite albums of all time. He was very inventive and very experimental for his time. I'm a little curious as to what his cause of death was, though.

From other reading, he apparently passed away on July 7th, four days ago. It says due to complications with his diabetes.

Ah, that's terrible. He inspired so much incredible music.

I think Waters was a dick, but the music he played and wrote with Floyd was amazing. But I think post-Barret Floyd is just as good as with-Barrett Floyd.

I'd say Post-Barrett Floyd WAS better and yes I should give credit for his songwriting abilities.

I'd have to say though "Bike" has the coolest lyrics ever!
