to be fair - i dont post on this board half as much as i'd like too... but i noticed something the other day. i've posted over 4000+ post and i got the banner under my name saying 'super member' and thats really cool but with the other super members floating around on the board i noticed their name had changed to a blue colour, mine on the other hand has not. its cool if i dont 'qualify' to have my name change colour, but the only reason i can think of is that i've been a member since 2003 and i havent really posted that much. sorry for being a nuisance - and if this is in the wrong thread or Admin want to delete this then go ahead/ delete it.
you have over 3000 posts so you DO qualify to become one, here's how do the following: User CP --> look under miscellaneous (at bottom) ---> click on group member ships ---> click the circle for supermember, and your name should change. hope that helps
I am STILL trying to figure out why you have that option in your user cp. I don't think you are supposed to have that. I'm sure once an admin sees this topic, they will be happy to change it for you, JJ87. It should change automatically though.
Yeah, I think it has something to do with the IPB/vB switch. Members who had their group changed before the switch don't get the option meanwhile the members who have had a group change after the switch have the option (example, Tom). In theory, it could be fixed by having all of the supermembers (staff too, if desired) demoted to member, then re-added to the supermember group. Then again, I can't see the admins bothering to do such work, unless they were really bored...
Future supermembers aren't affected with the not-being-able-to-chose-their-group-in-the-control-panel problem, it's the past supermembers. But yes, you're right about the white-username-but-blue-badge problem. I'm going to guess you have something misconfigured, but I can't think of what.. =/
That would be because we purged a bunch of threads with high post counts and they obviously lost alot of posts.
I went back into the Admin CP and fixed it. You were slotted as a supermember in the "primary usergroup" menu, yet for some weird reason, you were a "members with over 1000 posts" in the "display usergroup" menu. It should have been "default". See, when you go from what we call "members with over 1000 posts" to "SuperMember", the new rank isn't completely new, it's just an upgrade of your priviledges you enjoyed from 1000 posts onwards with a new banner, color, and features. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's fixed and that's all that matters.
