I loved this movie! I disagree completely with the critics...I usually do though I swear they never share my opinion on things.
I figured from the first time I saw one of the trailers that it'd be bad, but I still sort of want to see it. Jon Hamm probably... and even then apparently he's barely in it.
I imagine it to be a "so bad it's good" movie, with the redeeming points being hot girls/sick graphics. Excited to see it, hope it comes out pretty soon down here.
I don't think it's as bad as the critics say, but it isn't great either. It seems like it had a lot of potential, but the script/plot feels like it wasn't even finished.
Eh, Zack Snyder just doesn't make very good movies. Don't get me wrong. I like dumb action movies as much as the next guy, but it seems like he tries way too hard to hit every nerdgasm bullet point. That said, I'll probably watch this.
What I like about him is that he has his own style. Sure he can be self-indulgent a lot of the times but I like his movies nonetheless. I'd take him as a director over any of these other hacks like Tim Story (Fantastic Four).
This does look really bad, but really entertaining. And not painfully entertaining like Transformers 2.
Sucker Punch seems like one of those movies you just gotta see, to see how "good" or "bad" the movie is. Kinda like 300, which I didn't care much for, despite everyone telling me how great it was.
I saw it on Saturday and I loved it. Awesome effects, twisty plot, and the soundtrack is INCREDIBLE. I've had it on repeat all day.
A visual feast indeed, but an empty one. The film was an unintentional comedy. I mean, if I wanted to see amazing action without any need of emotional connection prior, I'd rather watch Monty Oum's work on 'Dead Fantasy' or something relative to that instead. If I wanted to see an awesome music video, I'd watch Monty Oum's work and play my favourite tune over it. Despite my incredible dislike towards the film, I wish it success. I would hate to see the technical aspects behind the almost-anime-like visuals to be shunned by the big wigs behind any future film ventures that may implement such creativity. I'm glad Snyder had fun, and super kudos to the animation team, but the film was a stinker. 4/10
