Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington: "High Rise" EP to be released October 8

    Amazon U.S. now has a listing for the forthcoming Stone Temple Pilots EP. The disc is entitled "High Rise" and is set to be released by the band through their own label, Play Pen LLC / ADA, on October 8.

    Additionally, CD Japan has a listing for a CD+DVD edition of the EP that will likely feature behind-the-scenes footage.

    An upcoming EP from Stone Temple Pilots with their new frontman Chester Bennington was first announced last month in a statement on STP's official website. The post also confirmed that the recent single "Out Of Time" would be included among the tracks on the release but, aside from that, no other information regarding the EP's tracklisting has surfaced yet.

    UPDATE: the tracklisting has been revealed on STP's Facebook page:

    1. Out Of Time
    2. Black Heart
    3. Same On The Inside
    4. Cry Cry
    5. Tomorrow

    Stone Temple Pilots are set to tour the U.S. throughout September to promote their new music, with Filter supporting, before playing a Japan date in October. Following that, the band will take a lengthy break from touring before heading to Australia in February next year to play Soundwave festival dates.

    Artwork looks pretty cool. Out Of Time sounds pretty cool.
    Having an EP is awesome. Ever better when it comes in CD formats.

    Is anyone else bothered by how it's labeled as "Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington"?
    It makes it sound like he's not part of the band and just like a featured artist on the album.

    1) Might be a legal issue to just call the band Stone Temple Pilots.
    2) I think it's actually pretty smart. There are probably people out there who recognize Chester's name easier than Stone Temple Pilots, who weren't aware of this partnership.

    I personally like the addition of 'with Chester Bennington". As an EP, we can expect this to be 5-6 tracks, right guys??

    ^Gonna be 5, I think. I read it somewhere.

    I saw October 8 as a date yesterday, but didn't think it was a credible source. Oh, well. :)

    Kinda sucks that they have to call themselves Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, but this is cool nevertheless.

    Like Mark said, it's only works in their advantage right now. No legal issues and more exposure to a wider public with "Chester Bennington" added.

    Ten bucks for a 5-6 song EP? I paid 9.99 for ATS when it came out via a release day special and that album had 10 more songs than this and a DVD. And STP's self titled from 3 years ago is going for 6 dollars. I'll buy it to support the band but I find the price to be a tad silly.

    It'll bring legal issues. Maybe both parts settled the dispute by opting to add that part to the band name. They've been quiet for a while now.

    BTW sick cover. And I agree with Derek, 10 dollars sounds a bit high too, I hope it's all worth it.

    And congratulations LPA for reaching 40,000 threads. I was actually a bit upset that someone had created it last night but the awesome Jeff decided to delete a thread of his to get back to 39,999 :lol:. Congrats again.

    Man, $10 is so much money guys. Why would I buy a CD for $10 when I can get like, 42 spicy chicken nuggets from Wendy's instead guys.
