I don't know if this has been discussed here before, but I coudn't find a thread about this... Anyway, Stone Sour is as you might know set to release a new dubble album called "House of Gold and Bones" and a few days ago they released the two first songs "Gone Sovereign" and "Absolute Zero": (Absolute Zero starts at about 3:20) So what do you think? I think they are pretty good, especially "Absolute Zero"!
I'm a little hesitant because sour is very up and down. They can he good and they can be very generic.
The album is fuckin amazing! Man, it's a beast! It went even beyond my expectations, and it's definitely an in-your-face type of album. There isn't a single song I don't like. It's really hard to pick favorite songs. Gone Sovereign, Absolute Zero and RU486 were already amazing, but after listening to whole album, Taciturn and Influence Of A Drowsy God are definitely highlights to me. The album is like the perfect balance of what Stone Sour is. One of my favorite albums this year for sure.
'Audio Secrecy' and 'House of Gold & Bones' aren't as particularly memorable to me in comparison to 'Come What(ever) May' or 'Stone Sour', but I can definitely see the progression the band has made since their last effort. Corey Taylor delivers as usual. RU486 is awesome.
Ehhhh, I wasn't really feeling this album at all. For what is supposed to be a concept record, it really didn't feel cohesive to me at all. There were a few standout tracks, but I was bored to death with songs like RU486 and The Rumor Of Skin.
