Colbert was featured to speak last at this White House Correspondents Dinner. He uses some old material, but has some new stuff. He just bashes everyone. Finally about time somebody spoke up about our administration. About time someone spoke about how badly those correspondents are actually handling it. Links to his speech can be found below: Link Those moments of awkward silence are so worth it.
I really liked it because he was just attacking, saying things that we want to say but don't. He took advantage of his freedom of speech.
True, but the fact he said it while standing less than 5 feet from the president makes it so much better
Agreed. Apparently Madam Presidente was giving Colbert one of those 'glares of death' when Colbert was done with his speech.
Yeah, I saw it, no one looked too happy I'm surprised Bush, being the dumbass he is, understood that Colbert was insulting him. His humor is different, and unless you can figure out that he's being sarcastic, it seems like he's supporting Bush.
Well, he covers up his bashing, albiet with a VERY thin veil of deception. He doesn't just stand for things, he stands ON things.
"But my point is that it's about the heart-warming story of man being constantly punched in the face." Stephen Colbert....he's just amazing.
"It's like punching a glacier... by the way, enjoy that metaphor. Your grandchildren won't know what glacier is."
"Tonight, no one is safe." Bush had a look of utter terror when the cameras panned to show his gorilla-esque mug.
I thought it was absolutely hilarious. You can watch the feed of Bush's reaction to the Press Conference video while it's going on at Youtube, I believe. He shakes his head and looks seriously pissed off alot.
