Jimmy LeCompt, the brother of John LeCompt (Evanescence's second guitarist), recently spoke with Ben about what happened. Ben didn't say why he left the tour, but he has NOT left Evanescence. He won't reveal why he left, as it's "personal." Plus, Jimmy said it best when he said "There are millions of things in rockstars' lives that you never know about."
I'm not a fan but Evansecence has found a formula that works, and hope it stays that way for their sake.
Evanescence has been around since before 1998. Their first EP came out in 1998, and they've had one EP and 2 albums (Origin and Fallen) since then. Their label, Wind-Up, is very, very controlling (for instance, Creed never wanted "Higher" to be a single at any point ever, but Wind-Up forced them to), and they controlled a lot of the recording process of Fallen. They forced Paul McCoy to be on "Bring Me To Life," and they forced Evanescence to use the demo of "My Immortal" on the album and the DareDevil soundtrack. It's just unfortunate that a song like "Bring Me To Life" skyrocketed them the way it did, and because of that, it's causing some fans of rock to just shun them because they're more popular than your average rock band, if you know what I mean.
i think they should leave wind-up, any other record company would take them [EDIT] THEY WERE LOVERS? Click Here dammit, i was hoping to marry amy :'(
Keyword: were. Although Amy would never date us lame teenage boys. [/b][/quote] Not to mention that it also ended way before they blew up with BMTL.
the politics of music just sucks these days. what happened to liking a band because of their music?? now people either love them because they are no. 1 on the charts or they hate them for that same reason... I DON'T GET IT!! it should be outlawed... no wait, charts should be outlawed... if there was no ranking, it will be all about the music... or not... i don't know... but i do know... right now... IT SUCKS!! damn mudder truckers... :argh: ------------ end rant. ------------
Surely if Wind-Up is as controlling as you say they are, and I'm assuming the band isn't happy with such interference, they should just up and leave? I don't think it'll be that difficult for them to get picked up by another label, at least not anymore. Unless of course they have an iron-cast contract that forces them to stay put. So Ben's left the tour but not the band? It's all very bizarre.
The fact is Ben is a loser for just leaving being in a band is a commitment, plus the only good thing about them is Amy lee is good looking as frickin annoying as her voice is, they are too commercialized, its a shame.
yeah your right, shed never date laim teenagers just kidding but i said i want her to date me, not you just kidding
It's not that easy...you can't just jump labels as you please. The band has a contract with Wind-Up to do a certain amount of records, and with Evanescence's recent sucess there's no way the label will let them down easy.
1) Amy and Ben have always been best friends, all that about them being lovers is fake. 2)WTH, Fallen is their second album? :wth: 3) Man, if Wes Borland was going to collaborate with Eva, i'd rather Ben stayed away 4) Know why Wind-Up is so lame?--> Wind-Up= SONY
Actually, I'm pretty sure it is true that they were at one point, lovers, but aren't anymore. In an article VH1 (I think) did, they asked Ben if it caused a rift in the band because they aren't together anymore (aa-la Fleetwood Mac) and he said no, it didn't.
1) Yes, they were lovers. There are also rumors that, at one point, they were married. 2) Yes, Fallen is their second album. In 1998 they released a self-titled EP. In 1999 they released an EP titled Sound Asleep. In 2000 they released their first full-length album titled Origin. In 2003, they finally released their first major-label LP, Fallen. 3) Wes is not going to collaborate. He said nothing about laying down guitar tracks for the songs. He wants to make the guitar sounds richer. He doesn't want to lay down his own tracks. 4) Yep. You got it.
