Several weeks ago, a member of the [exodus]Evanescence (otherwise known as the EvBoard) posted his thoughts on where he thought Evanescence would go without Ben Moody, their former guitarist. He stated what he felt would happen to the band in the future, and different things regarding the band (you can read them when you click the link at the end of this post). The board admin, "The Other Ben" (ToB), posted his thoughts on the subject. ToB stated that he felt Evanescence was Ben's one shot at greatness and that he blew his chance at greatness. Also, ToB gave his shot at stating exactly what had happened when Ben left the band, but, according to Ben Moody himself, he was way off. He said that John LeCompt (the guitarist taking Ben's place on tour while Terry Balsamo of Cold fills in for John's parts) had to learn all of Ben's guitar parts the morning of the show just by listening to Fallen and that there was only one guitar part tracked for the entire album. He apparently couldn't have been more wrong. It seems that the album had more than one guitar part tracked (apparent in the instrumental of "Going Under" on the "Going Under" DVD single) and that Ben had been teaching John his guitar parts for weeks, including the guitar solos. Apparently, Ben will carry on and we haven't "heard the last" of him. Currently, Ben is working with Avril Lavigne, and will help track some songs for her next album. There are also rumors that Ben will join Avril's touring band. For now, we'll let the rumors be rumors and you can read exactly what Ben said to the EvBoard by clicking here and reading his ENTIRE post (including the quotes). It is now official: Ben Moody has left Evanescence.
