A place to discuss the forthcoming film. In case you missed it, a bunch of the original cast is back and a bunch of new faces. http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html This thread is to be used for all things Star Wars. The teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film, directed by J.J. Abrams, is finally out. The Phantom Menace also had a cast of great actors. I'm excited for this movie, but I'm not going to get hyped over casting news just yet.
I'm changing the title of this to Star Wars Ep. VII to intend this to be general discussion and theories about the movie, characters actors and plot.
Really hoping for some Force Ghosts in Episode VII. Ewan McGregor is a perfect Obi-Wan. With some make-up effects, they could easily make him appear to look like Sir Alec Guinness.
As long as there's awesome light saber fights, a kick ass villain, and no whiny characters I'll be happy.
Star Wars Spin-off (December 16th, 2016) - And the Director is... Gareth Edwards, of Godzilla and Monsters fame, has been lined up to direct a currently untitled Star Wars spin-off. More details in the link below. http://schmoesknow.com/breaking-godzilla-director-gareth-edwards-to-direct-star-wars-spinoff/23730/ So what do you think LPA? Love it? Hate it? Neutral? What do you hope it's about? This has me personally excited as hell. Edwards is a superb choice. I would LOVE to see a Obi-Wan spin-off set between RotS and ANH, starring Ewan McGregor.
Considering that link doesn't work... I loved Monsters and I thoroughly enjoyed Godzilla, so Gareth Edwards is ok. Now him doing something even related to Star Wars is something to be cautious of - J. J. Abrams sold himself to me with Star Trek and its sequel, so I'm fine with him doing Episode VII. It doesn't fit his résumé is all I'm saying.
I'm always down for anything with Ewan McGregor in it. I love him so much I'm going to go take a cold shower now...
