Sounds good. The fact that they don't want to move from the line is even more funny. If it's not being shown there, what's the point in waiting? I wonder if it will end up being shown there, i doubt it from Lucus' response.
OMG!!11!!11 If I DoNT SeE tHe FirsT sHowinG, I wonT be A TruE Jedi!!!!!11 Fucking losers It DOES play more than once... someone should tell them that.
the first 3 weeks of its release, every showing will be booked, but otherwise your right, i like star wars, but, not as much as, say, standind in line for a month! thats crazy, msot i stood in line was 30 mins for ps2
It makes no sense to me. They wait months in advance to see the movie, I walk in a half hour before the movie starts and still get tickets to see the movie.
I honestly don't think these people differ from any other fanatics... They're just taking it to an extreme (which since the dawn of the Star Wars existance, this isn't surprising anymore). I don't think they differ from those of us who reserve the latest gaming console/game or the latest music album from our favorite artists. In any event, more power to the die-hard fans. Make fun of them all you want, but that, to me, is damn near amazing. Having fans that devoted that they'd spend so much time just to watch something still boggles my mind, they might be "losers" in your eyes, but I still say that is some friggin' devotion to something.
The difference between the music fanatics and movie fanatics is that I don't think any music buff has camped out infront of a record store to get an album when it comes out. Most would just go to the store the day it comes out or the morning. Or something. Regardless, I don't think they're losers for doing this. I'd kill to have that much time to do stuff like that. They love Star Wars, and they're surrounded by people who have a common love. I bet they're having a blast out there, just hanging out and talking Star Wars/whatever.
Perfectly said! Anyways, I was at the first showing in Utah for both Ep. 1 and Ep. 2. I didn't have to camp outside the theatre(although hundreds did). They really aren't camping just to make sure they get tickets. They're camping for the reasons Casey mentioned. But as for them camping outside the wrong theatre... well... that is pretty stupid of them.
My brother is one of those people. He waited in line for hours to get tickets for the midnight showing of Episode 1, IN THE RAIN. Got to the show four hours early, and since everyone in the theater was bored, decided to do some standup comedy. The audience threw popcorn at him.
waiting in long lines for star wars is pretty awesome!! i had to do it for 2 hours to see episode 1 ( I AM A SW freak) and met some really cool people. some cam dressed in full costume, while others came in normal clothes. all in all, it was an amazing experience!
